*Connor has a mission, he is to find Lieutenant Anderson. He’s been to four bars already and is heading to the fifth when the world around them lurches. He’ll lose sight of everthing around him and when he can see again the city streets are gone and the darkness of the forest is all that is around him.*

Connor: *frown deepens* I need to find Amanda. Excuse me. *and turns to head off again into the forest.

Amin: ..... *This is almost too strange to accept. Is he dreaming or something?* ...It’s dangerous to travel the woods at night. When was the last time you saw your friend, and where?

Connor: We are not friends. Androids are not capable of friendship. She is my handler. I saw her three hours and twenty-six minutes ago when she gave me my current mission. We met in the Zen Garden which is a graphic interface.

Amin: *brought up short at that...* I... see. *he’s... really not sure what to make of this right now...* ...Do you want help searching?

Connor: *considers* I would not turn it down. I would guess that you are familiar with this area...?

Amin: *nods* I’ve lived here for many years now. *a beat* My name is Terris. You said your name is Connor?

Connor: Correct. *offers his hand* I am pleased to meet you, Terris. *headtilt* Is 'amin' what your kind call werewolves?

Terris: *accepts the hand, but he’s surprised by the feel, and can’t help looking at it before blinking at Connor* Werewolves? *shakes his head.* Amin are...hmm, actually, is it safe to assume you know what a human is? You look very much like one.

Connor: Werewolf, a cursed or otherwise enchanted human who can take the form of a full or partial wolf, either voluntarily or involuntarily, usually under the light of a full moon. Werewolves are accepted to be monsters of myth and horror stories. However, if this isn't a virtual simulator...you clearly exist. And yes, I was designed and manufactured by humans. CyberLife androids are designed to work harmoniously with humans. My appearance was specifically designed to facilitate my integration.

Terris: *that was...quite thorough...* Well, I can say for certain that amin are not werewolves, as curses play no part in determining the type an amin will be. I happen to be a wolf-type, but amin come in many types. I, and all amin, are not and have never been human. Also, we are people, not monsters, and certainly far too common to be mythical or legendary.

Connor: *gazes at Terris as he explains his people, blinking only because his programming tells him to, to avoid staring and being creepy. The 'people, not monsters' comment draws a small frown from him* I'm sorry. I did not mean to be offensive.

Terris: *small smile* I do not offend easily. I have a feeling you will have much to learn here... *and he will learn a lot from Connor...* Now, describe your... handler so we can look for her.

Connor: *visibly starts to say something, but then stops, the small frown back on his face as his LED goes yellow and spins slowly* If this is in fact a physical location, not a digital one, we won't find her. She's a virtual avatar, my link to CyberLife. I meet her in a graphic interface designed to look like a Japanese zen garden.

Terris: Mmn. I’m afraid I only truly understood about half of that. Are you thinking she’s not actually here? And... how did you come to be here, Connor?

Connor: Correct. Assuming this place is...real, she is not here. It's not possible for her to be. *LED starts spinning faster as his frown deepens mildly* I...I don't know. I was looking for my contact, Lieutenant Hank Anderson. He's a homicide detective with the Detroit Police Department. My instructions are to find and accompany him on his cases involving assault and even murder by androids of their owners. He wasn't at home or the station, but I was told to look for him in the locals bars. I was just entering the fifth one when I stepped through the doorway into...this. *gestures to indicate the forest around them*

Terris: I see. *he considers a moment and moves to stoke the fire.* Come sit, Connor, I would like to talk, perhaps together we can figure out what happened and what we need to do from here.

Connor: *hesitates, then follows Terris back into the cave, kneeling to sit on his heels on a pillow opposite Terris, shoulders square and hands on his thighs - he doesn't look uncomfortable, but it's still a rather rigid pose*

Terris: *eyes Connor a moment, but won’t comment. He’ll get the fire going and put a kettle on to heat some water. With the fire, Connor can now see the creature’s scarred face, glass eye, and seemingly perpetual scowl on just the left side.* Will you tell me about where you’re from?

Connor: *considers a moment, trying to determine what exactly he's being asked - that's a /very/ broad question* I was activated in the CyberLife Tower six days ago, although the first of the Connor series was initialized approximately four months ago. After initial testing, that android was assigned its first mission, a hostage situation involving a deviant android. It was successful, though the unit itself was destroyed in the process. But it successfully uploaded its memories which were then downloaded into me when I was activated. I was released from the CyberLife Tower on my current mission this afternoon. *a beat, then* I'm not sure if that answers the question as you intended it, but your wording left a very broad margin of interpretation.

Terris: *blinks, taking that all in... wow... he can’t help a small, amused smile.* I apologize, I meant more the place, the city or town, is there anything you can think of that could possibly explain how you came to be here?

Connor: ...oh. *quietly as he looks away* Well... *LED goes yellow, spinning slowly as he tries to pull up /any/ information that might be relevant, finally shaking his head* No, there's nothing. Teleportation and any kind of travel to another world is simply not possible. It exists only in the realm of science fiction. Then again . . . werewolves - or amin - only exist in fantasy fiction. *meaning...he has /no/ explanation whatsoever for what's happened to him . . . and that visibly bothers him, LED still a spinning yellow as he gazes into the fire*

Terris: *reaches over to rest a hand on Connor’s arm.* It’s all right. We’ll figure something out. I have another question for you; what do you require for sustenance?

Connor: *looks up at the touch, a flicker of something that might be taken for appreciation hinting in his eyes* Thank you, Terris. I do not require food or drink like a living being, if that is what you are asking. I have a battery that will sustain me for one hundred seventy-three years.

Terris: *gives Connor’s arm a light squeeze before sitting back.* Battery? I don’t know what that is, but I assume that means you don’t need anything? No food, no water, nothing else...?

Connor: That is correct. I require nothing unless I become damaged, then I would be in need of repairs.
