He’ll lose sight of everthing around him and when he can see again the city streets are gone and the darkness of the forest is all that is around him.*

Connor: *hesitates, then follows Terris back into the cave, kneeling to sit on his heels on a pillow opposite Terris, shoulders square and hands on his thighs - he doesn't look uncomfortable, but it's still a rather rigid pose*

Terris: *eyes Connor a moment, but won’t comment. He’ll get the fire going and put a kettle on to heat some water. With the fire, Connor can now see the creature’s scarred face, glass eye, and seemingly perpetual scowl on just the left side.* Will you tell me about where you’re from?

Connor: *considers a moment, trying to determine what exactly he's being asked - that's a /very/ broad question* I was activated in the CyberLife Tower six days ago, although the first of the Connor series was initialized approximately four months ago. After initial testing, that android was assigned its first mission, a hostage situation involving a deviant android. It was successful, though the unit itself was destroyed in the process. But it successfully uploaded its memories which were then downloaded into me when I was activated. I was released from the CyberLife Tower on my current mission this afternoon. *a beat, then* I'm not sure if that answers the question as you intended it, but your wording left a very broad margin of interpretation.

Terris: *blinks, taking that all in... wow... he can’t help a small, amused smile.* I apologize, I meant more the place, the city or town, is there anything you can think of that could possibly explain how you came to be here?

Connor: ...oh. *quietly as he looks away* Well... *LED goes yellow, spinning slowly as he tries to pull up /any/ information that might be relevant, finally shaking his head* No, there's nothing. Teleportation and any kind of travel to another world is simply not possible. It exists only in the realm of science fiction. Then again . . . werewolves - or amin - only exist in fantasy fiction. *meaning...he has /no/ explanation whatsoever for what's happened to him . . . and that visibly bothers him, LED still a spinning yellow as he gazes into the fire*

Terris: *reaches over to rest a hand on Connor’s arm.* It’s all right. We’ll figure something out. I have another question for you; what do you require for sustenance?

Connor: *looks up at the touch, a flicker of something that might be taken for appreciation hinting in his eyes* Thank you, Terris. I do not require food or drink like a living being, if that is what you are asking. I have a battery that will sustain me for one hundred seventy-three years.

Terris: *gives Connor’s arm a light squeeze before sitting back.* Battery? I don’t know what that is, but I assume that means you don’t need anything? No food, no water, nothing else...?

Connor: That is correct. I require nothing unless I become damaged, then I would be in need of repairs.

Terris: Mn. Then we will need to ensure you never need repairs. *he’s not certain yet, but uas a feeling no one would know how to “repair” Connor.*

Connor: *mild frown* I think that would be advisable. *looks out the cave* It's very quiet here. I can't pick up any signals or transmissions or electrical noise of any kind. Is there some kind of curfew, or is it always this quiet?

Terris: Electrical noise? *shakes his head* I don’t think you’ll find any of that at all here, since I’m guessing you’re not meaning lightning.

Connor: No, not lightning. *considers a moment* You said there are humans here. Are they close? I should find them. *maybe he can find someone who can tell him how he got here and how to get back...or t least give him /some/ direction*

Terris: ...There are, but I doubt they will be too accepting of you. You are clearly different, *taps his right temple to indicated Connor’s LED.* I worry that you heading to town would result in you being attacked and hurt... damaged. *since that is the term Connor used.*

Connor: ...that may be. They'd have that right. But I still need to check in with someone for instructions.

Terris: ...you require instructions? And they must come from a human?

Connor: I do. While I have more social and analytical protocols than any other model of android, I am not intended to be completely autonomous. I require a handler. And...yes, from a human. *small headtilt* Who else would it come from?

Terris: Another race? *like from him? He doesn’t like it, but he will take this poor man in...*

Connor: *thinks about that a moment* Until now, I would have said that race would not change the answer. Caucasian, Negro, Pacific Islander, Asian...they're all still human. However...I think you are referring to individuals who aren't human at all. That I cannot answer.

Terris: ...Hmn. We will not worry about that for now. Come morning, when it is safe to travel, I will take you to the law enforcement of the nearest town. Will the head of the guard be of sufficient authority for you to take orders from? *asked as he pours himself a cup of hot water and adds a mix of herbs.*

Connor: That is not my decision to make. However, if that is all that is immediately available, I believe my programming would require me to at least consult with this person if any such instructions existed.

Terris: *nods* Then come moring that is what we will do. For now, I would like to know more about you. You said you are an android, can you explain to me what an android is exactly?

Connor: An android is a machine designed to accomplish a task. Each model is meant for a different purpose. For example, the AX400 is a female domestic servant - clean house, do laundry, mind any children. The PL700 is a male model version for the same purpose. We serve humans in whatever capacity is required of us. We are garbage collectors and sex toys, police and military soldiers, construction workers and miners, receptionists and entertainers. We do the work that is too menial, too repetitive, or too dangerous for humans to perform.

Terris: *heart clenches at all of this, but focuses on what he doesn’t yet understand.* Machine? *if Connor looks around again, he’ll be reminded of his rather primitive surroundings...* And what was your...designed purpose, Connor?

*This...person lives a very primitive life, but it hasn't yet occurred to him that this might be indicative of the whole country and not just this person living off the grid as a hermit.*
Connor: A machine is a construct of separate parts, each with a different purpose and function, that is used together for the performance of some kind of work. Assuming I am successful in my current mission which is serving as my testing phase, the RK800 'Connor' series will serve law enforcement as a detective. I can investigate crime scenes to offer real-time analysis of unknown substances, scan the location for clues, and reconstruct the likely series of events based on those clues. I can also serve as an interrogator of suspects, a negotiator in hostage situations, and while I am not permitted to make formal arrests, I have permission to capture a suspect for my human partner to detain for questioning.
