*They switch places and Yami reaches out through the Puzzle to the Shadows, trying to sense where the disturbances are.*

*The first thing he'll know if that...whatever is here... isn't of the Shadows. It is a similar type force, but different, and it's frustrated and tired, feeling directionless. He'll also know that this other force is currently concentrated down.../there/.  As Yami's moves closer to where the Shadows sense the concentration of energy, he'll see a man come out of one of the ruins. Rather well dressed to be an explorer, hiker, or thrill seeker, fedora, trench coat which looks a bit worse for wear, a satchel at his hip, and a clean shaven face with a smear of black on one cheek. Aside from appearances marking this man as out of place, the force seems concentrated around him at the moment, almost as though coiled around him.*

Yami: *frowns and concentrates the Shadows around that man, trying to get a sense of him - what impression do the Shadows give him about the man's heart? Is /he/ the source of the Shadow Games here? Or...whatever's going on?*

*He certainly finds this man to have a pure heart, and no. No, the Shadows will be sure he is not behind what is happening, but the force here seems to have taken some kind of interest in the man.*

Yugi: *now the manifested spirit - frowns at what he gets from his partner's heart* [That can't be good.]

Yami: *shakes his head* No, it's not. *will start down the way to the ruins*

*Yami will make it down without incident, and unless he's trying to go unseen, Darnell will notice his approach*

Kadlin: *studies him a long moment* Sit. *will change the bed to chairs again*

Atemu: *catches up his cape before she does so, putting it back on before sitting down - everything about him is regal and graceful, it's not even conscious, it's how he was raised from birth*

*Yugi sits too, Kuriboh hovering next to his shoulder opposite Atemu and Mahaad standing on Atemu's other side.*

Kadlin: Darkness, a power much like the Shadows, seeks to overpower all.  You have been a powerful agent of the Shadows since you were young.  Darkness did not want you to find peace, it wants you destroyed, and so its agent set a trap.  Had you completed the Duel, instead of entering the afterlife as should have been, you would have been taken into Darkness and slowly destroyed.

Atemu: ..............why? What is its argument with me?

Kadlin: It is what the Powers are about.  Light is a Power of Order, Darkness a Power of Chaos, and Shadow a Power of Balance.  You have kept the balance between Light and Dark and Darkness never likes to be thwarted.

Atemu: *nods, frowning* Who is its agent?

Kadlin: You will have to learn that on your own.

Atemu: All right. What exactly was the nature of the trap? How would it have been triggered, and what would the effects have been?

Kadlin: The trigger was set as the completion of your Duel, win or lose your souls would have been captured by Darkness.  You would have existed in torment until your soul was torn apart.

Yugi: */shudders/, hugging himself* That's . . . not how I was expecting to spend the rest of my life. *sardonic...but that also scares him, though more for his other heart than for himself*

Kuriboh: *shifts up into his lap, pressing into him to try to comfort him* Kuri...

Yugi: *indulges his creature - and himself - enough for a quick but tight HUG, then gently pushes him back down* All right, so . . . we should get back to the ceremonial chamber, see if we can find any traces of the trap and who might have left it. Maybe Malik or Ishizu will know something.

Atemu: *nods* The Tombkeepers may have clues in their secrets they don't even know they hold. Mahaad, find any others you can who might know anything, find out what you can.

Mahaad: *bows* Of course, my pharaoh.

Kadlin: ...Sending you back is not so easy.  I must act carefully or your will be lost here forever.

Atemu: *considers that - to Mahaad* Go. Find out what you can. Kuriboh will stay here with us. He'll be your directly link. What he knows, you'll know.

Mahaad: *bows again and vanishes*

Atemu: Can - and will - you suggest a course of action for us? *to Kadlin*

Kadlin: ...For now I need you to come with me and do as I say. I have...something I need to...address, and then I will be able to return you to your world.

Atemu: What should we know going into this?

Yugi: You have to answer to someone for helping us...don't you?

Kadlin: ...Yes.  No matter what happens you must not interfere.  That is all you need to know for now.

*Yugi's last memory is of a ceremonial duel with Yami, Atemu, his other self.  The duel was near to done, Yugi knew he had but to play his card and he would win...and then blackness.  Yugi now floats in a dark void.  His memories will return slowly at first before crashing back into full focus.  If he tries, he'll be able to stand, though there's no clear "floor" to stand on, just blackness...and yes "light" enough to see Yami suspended beside him, still unconscious.  He can still feel the connection between their souls.*

*It’s been about a month and a half since Yami was so sick.  Usually his nights are quiet, Sirrah keeps nightmares away, snuggled up on his chest or stomach, just enough of a weight that he goes to sleep aware that she’s there.  But tonight he’ll wake to the feel of a tiny hand softly touching his chin.*

*Several months will pass. Yami is learning a lot, and has likely found some things he enjoys doing. When he gets up this morning he'll find Terris packing up as though to travel.*

Terris: Good morning.

Yami: Good morning. Going on a trip?

Terris: A short one. Would you like to come? A few of us are heading out to meet a caravan that passes near here. *much like he was out doing when he came across Yami*

Yami: I see. Would it help or hinder to have a human along? *he'd kind of like to go, but not if it will cause any issues*

Terris: Help, actually. Why don't you wake the children for breakfast and then I'll help you pack.

Yami: All right. *and he'll move to do that*

Jerrin: *stretches* Morning.

Kendra: *yawns, but then hops up to head outside.*

Yami: Good morning. *will wait to break the news of the trip to them till breakfast, let them wake up the rest of the way first*

Kendra: *when he steps outside she turns to give him a hug...and tug him down for the morning kiss on the cheek.*

Kendra: .....*HUGS!* I'm glad you woke up.

Yami: Nnn! *startled and a bit pained, but /not/ going to complain, hugs back.* I only woke up because you went to get Terris. You saved my life, Kendra. */hugs/*

Kendra: *hugs a little tighter before shifting back and reaching up to softly touch his face*

Jerrin: So...are you feeling better?

Yami: I am, yes. You both have been all right? Who's been looking after you?

Kendra: Miss Ziomi, but she can't look because her eyes don't work.

Jerrin: Miss Zanthe too. They teach at the school. And then we've been with Talim in the evenings.

Yami: I see. And you've been behaving for them? *not that he thinks they /wouldn't/…*

Jerrin: Yes, sir. *his smile is tentative, as though asking if Yami is proud of them.*

Yami: *grins, reaching to lightly grip Jerrin's arm* Good. I'm glad you've both been all right. I've been thinking about you. *not "worried", not /really/, knew Terris and Zaura and others would look out for them, but…still…*

Jerrin: *sits a little taller.  He made Yami smile!  Yami said he was good!  Yami cares!  It still /blows him mind/, but he /loves/ the feel!*

Kendra: *it’s more the look on his face than the works that has her /smiling/ at him.  She shifts and snuggles to his side, tiny head resting against his chest.*

Zaura: *has changed his bedsheets and has a pile of laundry she's taking out to do for him.*

Yami: *watches her go…upset - he's had servants before, he doesn't /want/ them again, he can do his own work!...even if he can't do it right /now/ . . . just settles into the bed, facing the wall*

Zaura: *sees the look, and will give gim a wink before he turns over.*

Terris: *sits by him.* What bothers you, my friend?

Yami: ………….I hate this weakness.

Terris: Especially since it's your own. *understands.* It won't last long.

Yami: *grimaces* It's lasted too long already.

Terris: We all have our times of weakness, Yami. What matters is that you have people to watch your back while you're vulnerable.

Yami: ……………. *relaxes a little, relenting* For which I /am/ grateful…

Terris: *rests a hand on his shoulder* Try to get some more sleep. It's the best thing for you right now.

Yami: *nods and shifts to settle better*

*Yami will more or less sleep through to the next day. He'll wake now and then as Terris and Zaura trade places in looking after him, but he'll be quickly out again. The next morning, Yami will actually wake feeling hungry. This is a good sign. He still feels weak, but he's definitely feeling better.*

Yami: *wakes…and will try to sit up a bit*

*He'll manage, though his arms will tremble with the effort.*

Zaura: *smiles* Now that is a good sign. Think you can eat?

Yami: *small nod* Yes. *at least…he thinks*

Zaura: I will bring you something. It will give you strength and then you can try getting up and walking a bit.

Yami: *nods* Thank you.

Zaura: *comes back with stew.* Eat as much or as little as you feel you can.

Terris: *comes back to Yami and will stick a needle in his shoulder. The substance will /burn/.*

Yami: Nnnn! *goes /stiff/ but manages to not pull away, one hand finding some part of Zaura to /grip/*

Zaura: *lets him grip her hand and lightly grips back.*

Terris: *gently brushes a hand back through Yami's hair.* I think we will keep you awake for another hour, make sure your airway remains open, before we let you sleep more.

Zaura: *approving nod.*

Yami: *shaky n-nodnod, shifting uncomfortably*

Terris: *sits by Yami’s feet, a hand on one of Yami’s shins*

Kendra: *voice /soft/ and full of /worry/* Is he gonna die?

Zaura: Oh honey, he’s not going to die.  He’s sick, but we’re going to take good care of him.  He will be okay in a few days.

Terris: *slips over to her* Miss Zaura is right, Yami will be fine soon.  And to make sure you don’t get sick too, I want you and your  brother to go back to my home with Talim and get some more sleep, okay?

Kendra: *looks at Yami...but nods*

Jerrin: *will get up and take Kendra’s hand.*

Talim: *will lead them out*

*The days will become routine for Yami.  Mornings start early with cooking lessons.  Then Terris will take Yami to learn some other skill, often leaving him to learn under someone who better knows the craft.  Jimn teaches Yami how to work metal, Ziomi teaches him how to make pottery and how to properly carve wood.  Darden will teach him how to craft that wood into items such as furniture or weapons.  After lunch Yami and Terris will train in combat, and occasionally another will join in; Darden has joined twice, Aren once now.  Evenings are filled with more cooking and resting with others.  Terris, Talim, and the kids are almost always around, and Zaura often joins them too, and Ziomi and Inami have joined on occasion.  Tonight, Yami is just feeling...off, though he’s not sure...how...or how he’d explain it if asked.  He just doesn’t feel....himself.*

Terris: *doesn't seem to be writing in his notebook, but doing something else...drawing maybe?* Of course. Perhaps we'll look at pottery making tomorrow, or how to make a weapon or two?

Yami: *interested, though he doesn't show it* Will we have time for that? *seems to him, all his time is going to be taken just in surviving…*

Terris: *nods* We can do a little bit each day. And don't worry about providing meals for yourself and the children for now. We're a community, we take care of each other here, and while you're learning we'll make sure you're covered where needed.

Yami: *frowns* I don't want to burden anyone.

Terris: You won’t, my friend.  This is how we operate.  Many who come here know even less than you.

Talim: Like me.  I didn’t know how to do anything at all.

Terris: *nods* You won’t have to worry while you learn, and you won’t be a burden.

Kendra: *up and quietly playing with her bunny.  She ends up walking behind Terris, bunny bouncing along when she stops, looking at what Terris is doing* Oooo...

Terris: *ears twitch and he looks back at Kendra with a smile.* Do you like it?

Kendra: *nodnod* Show him?

Terris: *nods and offers her the book.*

Kendra: *trades the book for her bunny and crosses to Yami, carefully holding it up for him to see.  It’s a picture of him.  Making a trap.  Terris is captured the youthfulness of Yami, seeing past the /age/ and /experience/ that weigh on this boy and capturing the young man who’s learning something new.  The curiosity, determination, and that moment when the spark hits and it’s clear in his eyes that he just got something.  There’s a satisfied little smile on the image of Yami captured in the moment when he’s seconds away from completing something he was just taught to do.*

*The morning is cool, and they aren't the only ones up around morning cook fires.*

Yami: *will…try to get a cooking fire going in front of his own hut, furtively looking at what others are doing to learn*

Terris: *will come over and help; showing him how to dig into the earth a bit, finding some stones to line it, then helping to gather some wood and tinder to burn. He'll then explain how to light a fire, partially demonstrating before letting Yami try, gently encouraging and correcting as needed until Yami gets it.*

Yami: *focused and intent, catches on quickly*

Terris: *nod of approval when Yami gets it.* Fetch your cookware. I'll provide the food this morning.

Yami: Thank you, Terris. *gets up to go do so, though there's a bit of a frown at the thought of coming up with his own food each day - what if he can't?...what will the kids do?...he'll just have to figure it out*

Terris: *sees the look, and can guess, but will address it later. He'll head back to his den and return with what they'll be cooking together.*

Yami: *has everything set out by the time Terris returns*

Terris: *will settle beside Yami and start to teach, showing and letting him do. For the most part, Yami will be the one to cook.*

Yami: *it's almost painfully obvious that he's never done anything like this in his life - he's slow and awkward…but he's doing it*

Terris: *is ever patient with him, and never puts him down for not knowing what he’s doing or for being slow.* This afternoon, if you’re feeling up for it, I’ll show you how to make a few traps for catching rabbits.  You’re good with a bow too, so I can teach you how to walk quietly in the forest so you can hunt deer.

Zaura: *will lead him to the river and down the way. Things kind of turn and they'll come across a small pool and a series of several small waterfalls. It's just enough out of the way that it's understandable that people don't really come here.* I like to come here when I need to think. It's peaceful and beautiful.

Yami: *looking around, awed* It's . . . amazing.  I've never seen anything like this before, not in person. Thank you, Zaura. *for showing this to him*

Zaura: *touches his arm.* You're welcome. I'll leave you to think alone, if you wish. *smiles.* You won't offend me to say you want to be alone.

Yami: *mild frown, looking away* I think I've been told I'm not supposed to be alone.

Zaura: Building relationships does not mean you cannot have time to yourself. Everyone needs some time to get away from others.

Yami: …………. *nods - he doesn't even really know /how/ to be around others and build relationships…not without something like Duel Monsters as something to bond over . . . moves over to a rock by the water and settles, gazing into the currents*

Zaura: *he didn't way he wanted to be alone... So she'll come sit on the same rock, not touching, back to his, looking at the plants on the rise that goes up to the falls*

Yami: *after a long silence* How long have you been here? At this village?

Zaura: Four years. I was rescued from tervai when the group surfaced upriver for fresh water.

Yami: …………I see. I'm sorry you had to suffer that. I'm glad you're safe now.

Zaura: As am I. I am glad to be where I can now help others with what I know and have been through.

Yami: *nods*

Zaura: ...How did you escape the tervai?

Yami: I was approached by a glowing…sprite of some kind - Terris said it's called a faelight. It gave me a dagger made of light energy. I used that to kill the sentinel that had me. Then a number more of the things swarmed me, and next thing I knew, I was in the middle of a field. Terris found me there.

Zaura: *shakes her head, not that he’s facing her to see.* ...they must have saved your life.  The injuries you had, they looked half healed, but they were of the sort...you should not have survived them. *she doesn’t know he was dead before and just a spirit then, just that he “should” be dead and isn’t, that he was /expecting/ to be dead and isn’t...*  I know...that surviving isn’t likely what you wanted, but I am glad to have met you.

Terris: I know. And no one would ask you to. You are not the only one here able to wield Anti, the Shadows, though you are most certainly the strongest.

Yami: ……mn. *nods - that's good to know, in its way*

Sirrah: *wondering if he'll want to meet with those, find out what they know or can do...or have a closer look at the sick Shadows...she won't say anything.*

Talim: So...why did you learn Anti?

Yami: Where I come from, the Shadows are not evil. They're not tainted. They're /not/ the power of demons. They are a force of judgment and justice. Only a select few could wield them - the pharaoh and his six priests, the wielders of the Millennium Items. I inherited the responsibility of pharaoh and Millennium Puzzle when I took over the throne from my father upon his death.

Talim: So it's...it's different in different parts of the world?

Terris: Not likely, young brother. Yami is....from another world.

Talim: o,o

Terris: This is to stay among us unless Yami reveals this to others.

Talim: *nodnodnodnodnod! Who would even believe him?!*

Yami: ……………excuse me. *sets down his food, picks up his staff, and . . . is going to go for a walk, needs some alone time*

Terris: *nods, won't stop him*

*The kids watch him go but don't stop him either. Neither does Talim.*

Sirrah: *not that anyone will see, but she'll follow.*

*And while the medicine will ease his ache, it will not ease it much. Getting around today is going to be hard, what with his body aching and limbs feeling like jell-o*

Yami: *will pause and stretch often, growling at himself periodically when his body just /won't/ do what he demands of it even /with/ trying to take it easier today…*

Terris: *won't push him hard. They'll find an Earth wielder and will have a hut made about 30 feet from Terris and Talim's. Terris will direct the design so there is actually space tor three beds, but one can be used as a storage area for now. He'll also find something to use as a curtain to separate a couple areas so there are places Yami or the kids can duck into for privacy. Terris, Talim, and Jimn (the weilder) will bring in a table and pillows for seats. And then Terris and Talim will help Yami find and gather everything he'll need such as dishes, and bedding, and anything else Terris thinks he'll need*

Yami: *is right there, though more to try to help with things than to direct them, and will /thank/ both Terris and Jimn when it's all done*

Jimn: *offers his hand in a "Duelists Clasp" sort of gesture. Seems that's just the way it's done here.* It's been my pleasure.

Zaura: *has ended up nearby, watching...she approaches now.* You looked good out here today. It's clear you're talented.

Yami: Zaura. *greeting her, then shakes his head* No, just well-trained from a very young age.

Zaura: *smiles.* Modest too, hm? Trained or talented, you did look good today.

Terris: *amused, he'll start them back towards the den.*

Yami: *small shrug* Just truth . . . but thank you. *follows*

Zaura: *will reach to lightly kind of clap his shoulder as he moves to pass her to follow Terris. She won't keep her hand on him, but she does turn to walk with them a bit.* You pushed yourself hard today...I will see you in the morning. *she looks amused as she splits off to head for her place*

Yami: *isn't planning on it, will take a soak tonight and another in the morning - they used to use warmed rocks back home…*

Terris: *will make dinner for everyone and...well, they spent the day training instead of finding Yami a place so he'll stay over again tonight. Terris promises to look into arrangements for him in the morning if he wants.*

*While Terris is cooking, the kids are /excited/ to show Yami what they learned today!! As Yami finishes dinner, he's already starting to ache. He'll get a hot soak that only kind of helps, and at some point before Yami heads in to sleep, Terris will come sit behind him to rub Yami's shoulders.*

Yami: *apologizes that that didn't occur to him sooner, and thanks Terris for letting him (and the kids) stay another night . . . it's been a long time - A. LONG. TIME. - since he's hurt like this, but he won't complain . . . then again, he doesn't stop Terris's massage either, just leans into it with a low murmur of thanks*

Terris: *smiles as he gets to work on Yami’s shoulders* We may have pushed you a bit much today.  I’m sorry for that. *rubrubrubmassage*

*Yami will dream of home...both his ancient home and his modern one....they'll be happy dreams....no nightmares.  Sirrah wants him happy, she's guard him from nightmares unless he orders/asks her not to...*

Terris: *will be up early and will be making breakfast when Yami wakes.  Talim and the kids are still sleeping.*

Yami: *won't make the connection, just...wakes surprised and relieved and...pleased at the memories - will get up and help with breakfast if Terris will let him*

Terris: *certainly will....in fact, if Yami doesn't seem offended, he'll turn this into a teaching session.*

Yami: *quiet but attentive student*

Terris: *smiles* You catch on quickly to things you're shown.  You're doing very well.

Yami: Thank you.

Terris: Now that you’re healed, if you’re interested, I would like to see what combat skills you have.

Sirrah: *nod* I am able to transport people to...well, near enough anywhere, including other dimensions and worlds. The travel itself is instant, teleporting if you will, though finding the place you desire to go may take time depending on distance and plane. I am able to...scan an area up to a thirty yard radius and know every detail of what lies within. I can walk the world of dreams and ward people from other dreamwalkers or even from simple nightmares; and on that note, I can guard one's mind from invasion in most circumstances. I can mask the energy signature of other energies and powers. I can mend anything; mind I cannot heal living things, I can mend objects. I can transmute one substance into a similar substance, water to milk, milk to gasoline, rock into metal, etcetera. And no matter where I am in any world or reality, I will hear if you but think my name, especially if thought with the intent of summoning me. *a pause* Ah yes, and I can transfer some of my energy to another in need of a boost in either an electronic sense or a magical one.

Yami: *impressed, if hiding it . . . nods* Those are extraordinary abilities, Sirrah. *he’s…not even really sure what else to say – he can’t deny that his ka beasts can’t do any of that, and no doubt they would /all/ come in useful at some point or other*

Sirrah: *gives a nod* You have but to ask when you wish something of me.

Yami: *nods* Noted. And I accept your offer. Thank you, Sirrah.  Call me Yami. *she’ll know that’s not his true name* This is Terris . . . Jerrin . . . and his sister, Kendra.

Sirrah: It's a pleasure to meet all of you.

Terris: And you. *she said a lot of things he just has no concept for...but Yami seems to have understood. He doesn't know how willing Yami is to make use of her offer just yet, though, and it's not his call to make.* We should get moving again soon.

Kendra: *stands from where she's been sitting and crosses to Sirrah, petting her like she's a normal house cat.*

Sirrah: *purrs and presses her head into the attention*

Yami: *watches them . . . nods, will settle back down to eat, letting Kendra pet Sirrah for a moment longer before speaking up* Come finish your lunch, Kendra.

Kendra: Okay. *one last pat and she moves back to eat.

Sirrah: *will cross to the group and settle by Yami’s feet, not touching, just near, and curled up, facing out towards their surroundings.*

Jerrin: *shakes his head a little, a little smile on his face* Kendra talks only to people she really likes.  It...it just tells me all the more that we're--*his breath hitches as tears threaten, and he wipes them again, voice thick as he finishes* w-we're safe.

Kendra: *pats softly at her brother's cheek* Don't cry.  Yami will keep us safe.  *she looks at Terris...and then turns back to Jerrin* Terris will keep us safe too.

Yami: *nods, solemn* I swear on my life, Jerrin, I will do all I can to keep you and your sister safe, healthy, and free.

Jerrin: *just...just has to take a moment to cry.  The /burden/ he's carried, not only trying to keep himself and his sister together, but to keep his sister /safe/, and...and now /he/ doesn't have to worry anymore...*

Yami: *hand on the boy's shoulder, careful of whipwounds*

Jerrin: *can't just turn and hug him (Kendra is between them), but he does bring up hand up to cover Yami's, kind of clinging for a moment.* Th-thank you.  Th-thank you. *huffgaspsob* Th-th-thank y-you.

Yami: *softly* I know what it is to carry a heavy burden on shoulders far too young to have to.

Jerrin: *huffsobswallow, and then looks up at Yami.....he does understand...and that's actually a huge relief too...and with that, he's able to calm himself.*

Yami: *looks fifteen, speaks and moves with the maturity and confidence of someone twice his age...yeah, he understands*

Terris: Finish your breakfast. *kind of to both of them as he starts packing up their little camp*

Jerrin: *nodnods and will go back to eating*

Silver Fang: *advance, retreat, advance, as if indecisive . . . once he knows his summoner is safe, he "decides" is not worth it and will turn and lope off into the trees . . . if they follow, they might see him vanish*

*A couple will, just to make sure he leaves...and middle of the night or not....they're packing up and /leaving/...*

Yami: *feels when his monster has retreated, Terris may or may not hear him mutter to himself again in that language, releasing Silver Fang*

Terris: *once they're a safe distance away* Yami....what...what did you do back there?

Yami: I summoned one of my ka beasts.

Terris: .....I don't understand...

Yami: I am a Duelist and a Shadow mage. I am a wielder and agent of the Shadows. One of my advantages is that I have a relationship with a number of creatures I can count on when I am in need.

Terris: ...Shadow mage? *trying to understand...and the only "shadow" magic he can think of is Anti...this didn't /look/ like that, but....*

Yami: *nods* There is another realm, the Shadow Realm. It's a realm of . . . energy, I guess you could say. But the energy is sentient in a sense. On a different level than you and I. Agents working for my father made a connection with this realm when they conducted a powerful ritual while seeking a way for us to defeat enemies that had the power to completely destroy the Two Lands. Out of that, we developed a relationship with this realm. I am the last surviving wielder. *since the /few/ others would could also wield only did so through Millennium Items and those have been lost, reclaimed by the Shadows*

Terris: ....*He’s heard of the Shadow Realm...was even taken there once....that does not sound at all the same... Maybe it really is some other power...*  And...the ka beast?

Terris: That is a lot of time. How is it your spirit stayed around so long? And you don't have to tell me anything you're not comfortable talking about.

Yami:  I don’t mind. *and seeing as they have plenty of time for a long story, he’ll tell about the Millennium Items, how they were forged and why, how learned the secret of their creation broke his father’s heart and lead to his death, how he took over as Lord of the Two Lands . . . the thief who desecrated his father’s grave, went after the Millennium Items, summoned the demon . . . the battle, his priests falling one by one around him, the final spell he cast…*

Terris: *there are two reasons he believes....1 Yami doesn't exhibit any other symptoms of insanity, 2 Terris saw his strange arrival, who is he to say where the faelights could have brought him from?* You did a very brave thing.

Yami: ………… *faint, almost rueful half-grin, nods* It was my duty to my land and my people. *haunted gaze looks away, remembering the deaths of those closest to him* And my priests.

Terris: I'm sorry for your loss. You...your soul was trapped, but that isn't the end of your story. ...? *like how did he end up here for instance...*

Yami: *rueful grin grows, going more crooked* No . . . that was only part one. *pulls a breath…and explains about how the Millennium Weight was broken into pieces, creating an unsolvable puzzle – he doesn’t know how, but he has a feeling it had to do with the seal, an additional layer – explains about the riddle and prophecy . . . about Yugi solving the Puzzle, the two becoming bound, how he had no memories of himself including his own name, the process he had to go through to regain it all . . . the opponents, the Duels, gathering all the pieces, being pulled through the sealed door into the realm of his memories, replaying everything, finally /remembering it all/ . . . fighting Zorc again and this time defeating him with the help of his friends who were able to search elsewhere in his memories to rediscover for him his name . . . the final Duel where he was finally released from the Puzzle and from Yugi . . . stepping through the Door to the Afterlife . . . and being /yanked/ sideways and down . . . looks up at Terris* And…you know the rest.

Terris: I...know what I saw.  Who is...Anupu? *was that the name?*
