*The girl, Jessica Lassen, 16, had gotten into a relationship with a Kevin Dordia, 17. It was an abusive relationship, and Jessica finally broke it off last week. Kevin didn't take it well, and threatened her. Now she's missing and her family and friends are convinced Kevin is behind it.*

Connor: *reports as much even as he's looking up any records on Kevin and his family, also Jessica and hers just in case*

*Jessica is a good student and seems to be generally a good girl. Kevin has been known to be into drugs, and claims to be a vampire. Jessica over the last year had seemed to be headed the same way, but her friends were able to do an intervention and help her. Jessica has a good family history, a younger brother, and parents married for many years. Kevin's family in contrast have drug issues of their own, have been jailed many times, and are likely still together only because a divorce would be too much of a hassle.*

Connor: *again, will share all of this as he uncovers it*

Maura: Thank you, Connor. You certainly make this faster. I'd still be at my office reading if you weren't here.

Connor: What did you ever do without me? *clearly teasing*

Maura: Wasted a lot of time. *grin at him*

Connor: Apparently. *still grinning*

Maura: *pulls up outside of the he Lassen home* All right, let’s go find out more. ...You said you’ve got interrogation skills. I’d like to see what you can do with he family, unless they just refuse to speak to you.

*Hank's retired now... he's doing a lot better, but it's time... which means Connor is being reassigned. Not just reassigned, he's been sold to another agency, a private company even. His new partner studies him with a perturbed look. Maura Diverton, 37, daughter of the company owner, and a private investigator. Her father has insisted on this arrangement, and she's clearly not too pleased with it. For the moment, Clive Diverton, company owner, has shut them in a meeting room together so they can start getting to know each other.*
Maura: *sighs* Well, this is just peachy. You have a name?

Connor: ...if I've not been reassigned. *or...something else*

Gavin: ...That's unlikely. You'll be there to make my coffee in the morning, no doubt.

Connor: *gazing out the window . . . just nods, though he doesn't look convinced*

Gavin: *looks at him* ...Why do you look so worried? *not that he cares.*

Connor: ...two days, and I have so far failed to perform my intended function optimally, nor have I managed to integrate as I've been meant to.

Gavin: ...Two days isn't long enough for a test.

Connor: True…

Gavin: *Nods. Look, he doesn't know how to comfort, and he's not yet decided if he appreciates what Connor did or if he's pissed about it, even if appreciation is logical considering the circumstances...*

Connor: *not expecting comfort, especially not from someone who's made it abundantly clear that he hates him and his kind . . . he'll not speak again before they arrive back at Gavin's home*

Gavin: *opens the door and gets out* Guess we’ll be back to the grind tomorrow, see you then, Plastic. *will head towards his apartment.*

Fowler: *nods* Take one. You can get a set of keys from the front desk.

Connor: Thank you, Captain. *will head out, stopping by the front desk as he ramps up his search for the senior Reed as well as sweeping for evidence of Gavin's whereabouts*

*Alastair Reed is supposed to be reporting at a job at a grocery store in a couple hours. As for Gavin, Connor won't find any sign of him at nearby restaurants. Maybe the man went home for lunch?*

Connor: *will head to Gavin's apartment*

*When he arrives, he'll spot Gavin's motorcycle, but when he gets to the door and knocks it just... opens. Seems it's still locked.*

Connor: ............. */very/ cautiously steps into the apartment, silent and scanning*

*He won't see anyone, or even pick up anyone on scanners. He will hear the toilet flush, though...*

Connor: *freezes for an instant, then starts creeping towards the bathroom*

*The bathroom door is open as Connor draws close... a very fluffy siamese appears a the door. It stops and looks at him, startled! It hisses and bolts into the nearby bedroom. You scared her, new face!*

Connor: *flinches back with a hitch of breath, LED flickering red for an instant. He looks around, samples the atmosphere...realizes there's no cat box and why. Will do a quick look around the rest of the apartment before heading for the door to...wait outside, he's not sure what else to do, though he's scanning police frequencies and hacking various security systems and traffic cameras*

Gavin: *had stopped by the front office, so when he finds his door partly open he's pulled out his gun. He sidles up the door, peeks in, and then steps in, gun first. He'll be just inside the door when Connor comes back into view. There's a moment of utter /shock/ before he sputters.* /You/! What the fuck are you doing here?!

Connor: *startles as well and puts his hands up* We've been assigned a case. Captain Fowler sent me to find you. The door was ajar when I arrived, so I was making sure you were all right and there hadn't been an intruder. *small, wry grin, lowering his hands a bit* I'm well aware that, in doing so, I've made an intruder of myself.

Gavin: I should put a bullet into your head just for being in here. *he does put his gun away. Mostly he doesn’t want to gave to clean up blue blood before his cats get into it.* What case?

Gavin: *about fifteen minutes later he'll return to the car and start them back towards the precinct. He glances at Connor.* You ruin my day every time I look at you. *snorts and pulls out his gameboy again.*

Connor: I'm sorry. I don't mean to be unpleasant for you. What exactly is it that causes this?

Gavin: Your ugly face.

Connor: *headtilt, clearly confused at that* CyberLife androids are designed to work harmoniously with humans. My appearance as well as my voice were specifically designed to facilitate my integration.

Gavin: Yeah? They teach you not to talk back too?

Connor: I am programmed to be actively helpful to my partner and make available any data that I gather. I cannot accomplish my assignment if I am categorically forbidden from speaking to you.

Gavin: Look, I already told you I don't /need/ your help. You're just in my way. *had sat up and shifted to lean towards Connor and point at him.*

Connor: Perhaps /you/ do not, but you have been tasked with field-testing me for eventual use by other detectives. Don't think of me as a partner so much as a walking forensics lab if that would make this easier on you.

Gavin: *punches him! Though it's not as hard as it would have been if they weren't in the car* You need to learn not to sass me, Plastic. Do it again and you'll get worse. *said through gritted teeth.*

Connor: *LED flickers but he doesn't try to block the strike, even though Gavin can guess he saw it coming well enough. His synthetic skin pulls back and flows into place around the site of the strike. His head turns with the blow, then he looks back, a small frown on his face, LED yellow* It's not my intention to "sass," Detective. I'm merely discussing the situation. *what is he doing wrong!?*

Gavin: *a small part of his regrets doing that, realizing only after having struck Connor that if he’d damaged the android he’d likely be the one paying for it.* I’ve already given you orders, stop talking back about it.

Darnell: *crows!* That was amazing, Connor!

Ezrim: *will keep up amazingly well the first two times, not even caring that Connor beats him on both laps. The last he pulls aside and lets Connor take a victory lap, crowing with Darnell when the android finally returns.* Haha! Was that fun, or what?!

Jaya: Fun to watch for sure. *grinning* You’re both insane and that was amazing to watch.

Connor: *hesitates, though still grinning - /was/ it? Was it "fun"? And does he dare admit it?* Y-yes . . . yes, it was fun. It was /very/ fun. *nods at Jaya* Thank you.

Darnell: *throws an arm around Connor's shoulders, snugging him* /Great/ job, partner! That was awesome!

Connor: *just...kinda glowing with the experience*

Ezrim: *claps Connor’s shoulder* We’ll have to do this again sometime. We won’t travel nearly so fast, so we’ll have to have some fun before we go.

Connor: Yes. I-I would like that, Ezrim. *he shouldn't, he shouldn't be /able/ to "like" or "want"...but he does. He can no longer deny it.*

Darnell: *that just gets a HUGE grin for his partner's sake* C'mon. It's getting towards dinner time, and you've still got that chicken in your backpack. Let's head back.

Jaya: I will catch you crazy men later. *claps shoulders* I’ve got to get to work.

Ezrim: Have a good night Jaya. *will lead Connor and Darnell inside to plug in the two fixed up speeders before they head back to Sanctuary*

Ezrim: How about a slow circuit together so we know where our “track” is, and then we’ll race for real?

Connor: That's reasonable. I can map an ideal route if you would like.

Ezrim: All right. Let’s go. *he’ll let Connor lead.*

Connor: *won't ride slowly, but it's at a sort of "brisk walk" pace, still slow enough that they can discuss obstacles and the like . . . and Connor promises to lock all but the most basic of the data he's gathering to get closer to a "react in the instant" behavior that Ezrim will have to contend with, not wanting to create an unfair advantage (beyond his direct hack, but he figures Ezrim's probably as used to a scooter as Darnell is to driving a car, so it's not too different)*

Ezrim: For the first race, sure, for the second, I want to see what you can do. *They’ll map things out and get back to the “start”* Ready? Darnell, why do you count us down? *so he doesn’t have the unfair advantage of knowing exactly when to go.*

Connor: *pleased little grin at that and nods - he'd like to see too*

Darnell: Sure. Hit it /on/ "go," okay? Three...two...one...GO! *sharp clap of his hands to help further accentuate*

Connor: *hesitates a split second to accommodate for a common length of human reaction time before taking off*

Ezrim: *takes off! He’s very skilled as he zips along, leaping obstacles, and just enjoying the /speed/!*

Ezrim: Don't feel you have to get off yet.

Jaya: *makes a rude noise at him, but is still smile. He’ll keep working at it, the ride getting smoother and smoother.* This thing isn’t so bad when you get used to it.

Connor: ...I've demonstrated that I can safely operate it.

Darnell: *smirks* Told'ja.

Ezrim: *shrugs* Doesn’t mean you have to get off of it right away.

Connor: *hesitates, gaze dropping away a bit with uncertainty* I...shouldn't waste time or resources.

Darnell: Connor, time is something we kind of have a lot of for the time being... *glances at Ezrim, not wanting to comment on resources just in case Ezrim knows something he doesn't*

Ezrim: Mmm. Race me?

Jaya: Oh, I want to see this. *will step off of his speeder*

Connor: *headtilt, LED flickering yellow in mild surprise* In here?

Darnell: *snerks* I'd hope not.

Ezrim: Wouldn’t be much of a race if we stayed in here. C’mon! *will go get on the speeder Jaya stepped off of to offer him.* Thanks, Jaya.

Jaya: Of course. I’m done making a fool of myself and want to see you two show off.

Ezrim: Nah, you were doing great. You’ll be speeding along after a bit more practice.

Jaya: I imagine so. Poor guy. I can't image how hard things are for him. I'm sure he'll really take time to deal with it when he doesn't have the focus of helping you two anymore.

Connor: ...I hope he finds a way to healthfully deal before then. He's decided that he will accompany me and Darnell and the women from the south, which will take him into contact with those on the outside.

Jaya: I just hope he doesn't do so alone.

Connor: I hope so too.

Jaya: You and Darnell are staying with him for now, right?

Connor: Sharing a hut with him, you mean? Yes.

Jaya: *nods* I hope he'll open up to one of you then. *and they've arrived.* Anyway, shall we? *motions at the building*

Connor: *nods* Hopefully. *nods and will lead the way*

Ezrim: *likely smells the cooking chicken about the same time Darnell does, and it at least pulls his attention up* Food?

Jaya: *snickers* Tell me you two have had lunch.

Ezrim: Of course we did. Doesn't mean I don't smell food, though. *grins.*

Connor: *considers* I could probably stand to learn more about cooking...? Do you have any suggestions? *he kinda really doesn't even know...*

Jaya: Hm, well, I have something I can teach you how to cook.

Connor: I'd like that.

Jaya: It's something you can travel with too, so you can make your companions a really nice meal without having to stop to cook.

Connor: *headtilt* Oh? *okay, now he's intrigued.*

Jaya: *grins* I'll show you when we get back.

Connor: I look forward to it.

Jaya: *will head Connor to the community area to pick up a sort of small backpack, a handful of large leaves, about ten palm-sized stones, and a chicken that's already been prepared to cook.* All right, let's head to a fire and get these rocks heating. You can do this either early in the morning or in the evening while camp is being set. You'll need about four hours for things to cook, though, so I'd suggest doing the prep in the morning so when everyone breaks for lunch no one has to cook, because it's already done.

Connor: *intrigued* All right.

Jaya: While those rocks get hot, let's prepare the bird. You'll want to add some spices. I picked up a few. So rub those into the meat, inside and out. *gonna let Connor do, likely better to learn that way*

Connor: *does as told*

Jaya: Set out the leaves, like this. You kind of want to weave them, because you don't want this leaking down your back as it cooks.

Connor: *small, wry grin* I'd prefer for it to not do so…

Jaya: I mean, you could try it, but it’d be a bit messy. So be generous with the leaves. You’ll put the bird right in the middle, pull those rocks out of the coals and put as many into the bird as you can, put the rest around the bird, wrap it up in the leaves, then in the waxed leather, and then into the bag. Just let it cook for at least four hours and you’re good to go.

Connor: Yes, but statically-speaking, it's improbable enough that it shouldn't warrant concern.

Jaya: *claps his shoulder* I will say... sometimes fear isn't logical... and that's okay.

Connor: ........... *uncertain nod, quietly* Much like...any other emotion...?

Jaya: *chuckles* Yeah, pretty much. Emotions are not very logical... sometimes they're not logical at all.

Connor: *quiet...looks confused to the point of...troubled? dismayed? hard to say* Why is that? Do you know?

Jaya: ...No... Sometimes I think emotions are our way of reacting to something because it's not how we think it should be, or because it's different, for better or worse, from what we expected. I know that doesn't cover all emotions, and I know it doesn't really apply to all situations, it's... just a thought for some time.

Connor: ...I see…

Jaya: Heh. *gives Connor a companionable snug* Sorry. Honestly we spend most of our lives trying to figure out what we’re feeling, why, and working to feel something different much of the time. Sometimes what we feel is medical, sometimes what we feel is brought on by a mix of previous experiences and current events, like your... technically your predecessor’s... previous experience of falling and your current event of suddenly being much higher than you could go under your own power and with a complete lack of control over the situation. Sometimes what we feel is an instinctual reaction to something, like why rotting food disgusts us, we know it’s not safe and so our instincts to survive make certain we react with the appropriate emotion to ensure survival. For you? I don’t know if medical reasons or instinctual reasons would have anything to do with how you experience emotions or not, but the situational emotions based on past and present experiences? I can’t see how you’d not have those kinds of emotions. You have past experiences, depending on what they are a certain situation may bring back feelings of fear, or pride, or longing, joy, sadness, regret, and you have to work through the current situation and the past situation to determine if what you’re feeling makes sense. Does fear logically apply to this situation? Well... yeah, actually. Your past experience taught you that falling is bad, it can kill you, so being up high, with no control over how high or whether or not you’ll fall? Fear is logical. Just because I’m unlikely to drop you doesn’t mean it’s impossible, and it’s normal to consider those slim chances, consciously or not. What if I got shot by a hunter? Would I be able to hang onto you? What if I swallow a bug and start choking? Would I be able to hang onto you? What if I have a heart attack? Would I be able to hang onto you? Are any of those likely? No. But are they possible? Yes. That they’re possible is what brings out the fear, that they’re possible is what makes that fear logical, that they’re so unlikely to happen is what makes that fear illogical. Now you have to figure out how to work past that fear to let logic win out in your mind, which is a lot easier said than done, and all considering, you did a good job of it.

Connor: *STIFF and /gripping/ himself, LED solid red - Jaya may or may not be able to tell that he's stopped breathing (not that he actually needs to anyway)* Ah...y-yes…

Jaya: *can tell that he's /stiff/* You sure? I promise not to drop you.…

Connor: I-I...not s-sure. Please don't!

Jaya: *manages to hug him a little tighter* I've got you, Connor, I promise. I know I joked about it before, but I /won't/ drop you. You're safe. Do you want me to land?

Connor: I-I...y-yes...I-I'm sorry…

Jaya: All right. Close your eyes, okay?

Connor: *nods and does so*

Jaya: *will head for the ground. He just didn't want Connor to see it coming up at him like he was falling. He'll finally shift to get their feet aimed towards the ground, then gently sets Connor down.* You okay, buddy?

Connor: *eyes tightly closed, LED still red (also still not breathing)* I-I...I don't know. *trying to work out all the conflicting data screaming and bouncing around through his systems*

Jaya: *shifts around before him and grips both his shoulders, ducking to be more at his level* Connor, look at me buddy.

Connor: *shaking, does so...there's something deep and horrified in his gaze, though Jaya may well guess even /he/ isn't wholly sure what's wrong*

Jaya: You're okay now. You're okay. We're on the ground now.

Connor: *still looking frightened, though more now by having /had/ the experience than by the experience itself* I don't understand. W-what...what happened?

Jaya: I'd say you're afraid of heights.

Jaya: Not a bad breakfast either. I’m impressed with your work.

Connor: *proud little grin* I'm glad you are pleased. Inami is a really good teacher.

Jaya: *grins* She really is. You going back out with her tonight?

Inami: Not that I’d turn you down, but I think you should join Jaya tonight. He’ll show you more about how to keep watch and scouting around.

Connor: I will go with whomever you both believe would be best.

Jaya: Well, if she thinks there's nothing more you can learn for hunting, then you'll join me tonight.

Connor: I am happy to learn anything you wish to teach me.

Jaya: *nods with a grin* I don't know how much more I can teach you, but at least you're help and company will be welcome.

Connor: I will be glad for your company as well, though I'm afraid I can't fly. *little grin*

Jaya: Oh, I'll help you with that. It's easy. *winks*

Connor: *blinks, headtilts* Oh? *really?? How?*

Jaya: *can't help a snerklaugh at Connor's clear cluelessness* Yeah. I take ya up and let go, just flap your arms real fast. *clearly joking.*

Connor: *LED flickers yellow as he processes that...and catches that it's a joke, little grin* I said I can't fly, Jaya. I'm well aware of how to /fall/. Though generally with less arm flapping.

Jaya: See? That’s your problem. Get the arms flapping and maybe falling won’t be such an issue.

Connor: I've not yet checked the snares we put out early this morning.

Inami: *nods* Let's go check then.

Connor: If you're not in the middle of something at the moment…

Inami: Not at all. *pushes to her feet and brushes off her rear, ready to head off to check the snares* You recall where you set them? *that's important.*

Connor: I do. *will lead the way*

Inami: *nods and will follow him. He'll find that he's got two snares that have caught something. He'll be able to return with a couple rabbits.*

Connor: *not happy with having to kill something, but won't show it, knowing it's necessary*

Inami: You did good. You know what to do with those?

Connor: I know verbal answers include skinning them and dressing them, but I don't know in practical, actionable terms what they mean. *aka no, he hasn't really any clue*

Inami: I'll show you. C'mon. *will head him back to her and Jaya's home.*

Connor: Thank you.

*Connor will find that the necessary steps are messy. Inami will show him what to do and how to do it so that nearly all parts of the rabbits can be used. Since he has two, she’ll do one, and have him do the other. She’ll also teach him a travel-friendly way to cook them up for his travel companions.*

Inami: *will get some food then come plop by him again.*

Connor: *gives her a grin when she does* Better?
Inami: Better. Better for you? *is he doing better now?*
Connor: I am well, yes. *a beat, then* ...thank you.
Inami: You're /very/ welcome. *lightly bumps her shoulder to his*
Connor: *lightly bumps back*
Inami: *after she eats* All right. Let's grab some snares and I'll show you how to set them and how to find the best places to set them.
Connor: Yes, sounds good!
Inami: *nods and stands* C'mon.
Connor: *stands to follow*
Inami: *will lead Connor off to pick up the snares and then will head back out of Sanctuary to show him how to decide where to set a snare, and then how to actually set the things.*
Connor: *can see as they're doing so how it works and will even suggest tweaking it a little*
Inami: *sure, she'll let him do so. Why not?*
Connor: *will explain why as he does so - the angle is slightly better and the strength of the line means it can be a bit tauter*
Inami: *approves of the changes and will have him set a few in different places, only the first will she show him how to decide where to put it, the rest she’ll have him place where he chooses. She’ll head them back to Sanctuary then* We’ll give those a check in the morning. And don’t be discouraged if nothing is in them. Just because a snare is set, doesn’t mean it’ll end up catching anything.

*They eat, and chat. The ladies will leave rather early, looking forward to sleeping in beds in a private area for the first time in over a month. Ezrim will also excuse himself, he’s feeling tired. Terris makes it clear Darnell and Connor are welcome to stay as late as they want.*

*They'll stay at least until Jendayi goes to bed, chatting some more about the world, Terris's travels, their own adventures, wherever the conversation takes them. Finally, Darnell will head to bed and Connor will head to find a patrol that will take him on and hopefully teach him a few things as well, as Terris had suggested.*

*Jendayi is very fond of the cute little braids Anath put in her hair and will try to stay up as late as possible so she doesn’t have to go to bed and ruin them. But she’ll finally give in and will get hugs and kisses from Darnell and Connor before letting her papa tuck her in.*

Jaya: Connor. How have things been with you?

Connor: Hello, Jaya. They have been well. You? And how is Inami? *he's only met her briefly, and even Darnell hasn't seen her since. Their paths just haven't crossed*

Jaya: She’s doing well. She’s actually just over that way. You going to be joining patrols tonight? Or the hunters?

*They'll chat a while longer, until they finally start pulling things together to head back to Sanctuary.*

*Darnell will go more into detail on things if asked, and they'll chat about things, and then clean up.*

*They'll all head back to Sanctuary. They've been out long enough they should go back and start making dinner.*

*Darnell will ask Terris to help him furnish his and Ezrim's (and Connor's) new home with food staples tomorrow, and for tonight teach him some more about food prep. Connor will hang around to learn too*

Terris: Gladly. *he'll actually let Darnell (and Connor) do all the work, standing back and directing instead tonight.*

*Both eagerly get to work.*

Terris: *teases that the ladies (including Jendayi) will be judging their efforts while they cook.*

Jendayi: *giggles* I bet they'll do great.

Connor: *gives her a grin* So long as you're happy, I'll call it a win.

Darnell: *small grin behind Connor's back - he really enjoys seeing his partner interact with the child, it brings out a side in the android that he's never seen...but /deeply/ approves of*

Ezrim: *sees Darnell's smile... and if Darnell looks at him, he'll share a smile with the detective.*

Jendayi: You’re cooking, of course I’ll be happy.

Jendayi: *she looks like a chipmunk with stuffed cheeks*

Darnell: *small grin* No one's going to take any food from you. There's plenty and you have time.

Jendayi: *says something, but no one will be able to understand her... so she'll take time to swallow before trying again.* You're sure? I don't want to keep everyone from what they need to do.

Terris: I'm sure. You'll have plenty of time to make as many crowns as you want.

Connor: Terris is right, Jendayi. We don't need to get everything done today. We have time.

Darnell: *nods*

Jendayi: *looks at the women.*

Tuon: *smiles* We have time today, little one. Do not make yourself sick trying to eat so quickly.

Jendayi: *smiles* Okay. Thank you. *will keep eating, just slower.*

*Connor and Darnell both grin at her, Darnell continuing to eat and Connor sipping at his canister.*

*Jendayi will still be done before everyone else and will slip away to start picking more flowers. Her Papa is the next to get a flower crown, then Darnell, then Tuon, Anath, Ezrim, and then she'll finally make one for herself.*

*Actually...she won't get the chance. By the time Tuon's crown is made, Connor's observed enough to do it himself. He makes one for Jendayi, as well as small bracelet.*

Jendayi: *laughs and HUGS him, planting a kiss on his cheek* Thank you, Connor.

Connor: */hugs/ back, tucking over her for a moment* You are very welcome, Jendayi. I'm glad I could give you one.

Jendayi: I love you, Connor. *snuggled to his chest.*

Connor: *LED flickers red before settling yellow...and finally blue again, /very/ softly so only she hears, burying it in her hair* I love you too, Jendayi.

Jendayi: *kisses his cheek again.*

Terris: *smiling, how precious, even if he didn’t hear Connor return the sentiment.*

Connor: Essentially. I can explain if you'd like, though I suggest waiting till after we are settled. *nodding acknowledgment at Terris regarding his "come" comment*

Tuon: Fascinating.

Terris: *will lead them out of the ruins and to a nearby field, right now it’s just /FULL/ of wildflowers*

Jendayi: *gasps* Ooohhh!

Tuon: *can’t help glancing a smile at the child.*

*Just outside the building, Darnell and Jendayi were waiting with all the picnic stuff. No call lugging things down there only to lug them back up and out, right? Darnell will give Connor a clap on the shoulder, asking if they got much done and did he enjoy himself, then telling him about the new hut as the walk out to the field*

Darnell: */grins/ at Jendayi* Looks straight out of a fairy tale, doesn't it?

Connor: *looking around in appreciation . . . realizing this is a sight he's never seen for himself. He's never been outside of metropolitan areas till now.*

Jendayi: It’s so beautiful.

Terris: I thought this might be a nice place to picnic.

Tuon: It is a beautiful place for lunch.

Connor: I know that he'd try. *doesn't mean he'd manage, may not have enough say over something like that*

Ezrim: *squeezes Connor's shoulders and will get the android to look at him* Then trust him to do all he can. I know there's no guarantee, there never is, but trust him to try, trust him to fight for you with all the authority he can bring to fight.

Connor: .... *nods* I just...hope it's enough. *clearly still scared, though outwardly he's fairly matter-of-fact*

Ezrim: *squeezes his shoulders again, and will pull him into a firm hug.* Me too, for both of your sakes. It's all we can ever hope for.

Connor: *HUGS back* Thank you. *looks at Ezrim with a small grin as he shifts back* You remind me a lot of Darnell.

Ezrim: *grins* Considering what I've seen of the man, I take that as a huge compliment. *shifts to head them on to the building they were headed for.*

Connor: You've been nothing but kind and supportive, and you seem to be as touch-positive as he is. *small grin* I get a lot of hugs and shoulder pats from him too.

Ezrim: Well, I have been touch deprived for a long time... *he's playing...*

Connor: *grin widens while still being small* Then I suppose I'll have to help you catch back up.

Ezrim: That will be /much/ appreciated. *he’ll head them into the storage room.* All right, so we’ll need to get four speeders, and four portable generators fixed up, and I’m working on what you’ll need for carrying and producing Thirium while we travel.
