*It will prove to be an uneventful and otherwise frustrating day. No clues will be found... and Terris won't be found either...*

Darnell: *fretting* It's been too long. He'd have checked in by now, I'm sure of it. We should check out Venture's place.

Hellboy: *nods, to Ralar* Not you, Tekel. The lord of this township shouldn't be caught snooping around a rich merchant's place.

Darnell: Not that /we/ intend to be caught.

Hellboy: *wry smirk* Not that we /intend/ to be caught.

Ralar: *reluctant nod, but knows it's true* Let me know what you find, please.

Darnell: *nods* We will, promise. Thank you for your help, Lord Tekel.

Ralar: *nods* And thank you for yours.

*The two nod and will part ways with the lord, heading for Venture's.*

Ari: *moving with them, right by Darnell's side* I hope Terris is okay...

Darnell: I hope so too, but I'm afraid that's less and less likely the longer he's unaccounted for.

Ari: Should I try to get inside of Venture's place to see if I can find Terris? Or anything else...?

Hellboy: Hmn...yeah. Some reconnaissance would be a good idea.

Darnell: Be careful, Ari. We don't know what we're really dealing with here.

Ari: *nods* I'll be careful. Where will you guys be waiting?

*They'll discuss and decide on a place, not far from the estate but out of sight.*

*Ari will leave...and maybe half an hour later the evening will get interresting. Hellboy will sense the stirring energies all aroubd them just before Darnell is grabbed and pulled into a shadow! A hand will try clamping onto Hellboy’s ankle too.*

Darnell: *YELPS and is gone!*
Hellboy: Barrett! *the hand grabs him* Hey, hands off! *SMASHES down full-force with his stone hand as he says it, likely shattering the wrist and arm. He jumps to his feet, looking around* Barrett!

*Hellboy will certainly hear a satisfying crunch...and then all is still and the energies gone...*

Hellboy: *SNARLS, punching the closest thing to him* Come back here! COME BACK HERE, YOU COWARDS!

*The wall crumbled before his fist. He’ll feel energies stirring again, this time down a bit from him instead of right around him.*

Hellboy: *darts that way without hesitation, Samaritan in hand*

*An impish little creature rises from the shadows, hands up wardingly.*
Imp: Wait!

Hellboy: *nope, not waiting - snatches the creature up in his stone fist* Where's Detective Barrett?

Imp: *yeps, squirms, and will try sending a shock of electricity into Hellboy, touching skin past the stone arm.*

Hellboy: NNNnnnn!!! */growls/ and smacks the imp upside the head with the butt of the Samaritan* Stop that! Or I squeeze your ribcage to pulp. Now Where! Is! Detective! Barrett?

Imp: *yips! But stills.* The master has him. He wants you too. He has an offer for you.

Hellboy: Keep talking. I'm not a patient man.

[socrowdedinhere]

Imp: *nervous laugh* You’re not a man at all. You’re like me. I can feel it in you, you’re like me. The master wants you at his side, wants you to stand with your bretheren. It’s time we were free instead of locked away.

oy: *SCOWLS at first but then just snorts* If your boss is anything like all the other two-bit lowlifes who've tried to tell me the same thing, I'll tell you to give him the same response - he can go shove it up his ass. You bastards are locked away for a reason, and I intend to make sure you /stay/ there. And he'd better give me back my colleague - unharmed - or I'll go find him myself . . . and he /really/ doesn't want me having to go to him. *openly menacing . . . subconsciously channeling all the power and authority he truly possesses as The Beast of the Apocalypse*

Imp: I donmt know where he was taken! *truly seems scared, and cowardly enough to tell if he knew*

Hellboy: Then you better take me to your boss, and I'll ask him myself.

Imp: I’m to take you nowhere if you’ll not join us. *nervous whine.* I fear him more than I do you. You can kill me, he can do so much more.

Hellboy: *holds him closer, almost nose-to-nose* You have no idea what I can or can't do to you. *it's…technically a bluff, but he's too focused and angry to even be thinking that consciously…subconsciously, he's BEARING DOWN on the imp again* Take. Me. There….NOW.

[socrowdedinhere]

Imp: *chokes and /squirms/ as bones start to break.* Ah! Okay! Oka—*cuts off with a choke, spasms in Hellboy’s grip and then his brains leaks from his ears and nose a moment before the body melts away in stinking smoke. Killed by his master? Because Hellboy’s squeezing shouldn’t have done that...*

Hellboy: *definitely not his doing, no! Growling, he shakes his hand to clear it of anything left over* Dammit! *looks around* Show yourself! Come out here, you coward!

*He’ll get no answer...*

*Darnell will wake in darkness so thick he’ll not even be sure he acually opened his eyes. The ground his hard stone, cold and already working to leech the heat from his body. He’ll hear the dripping of water and smell the dampness in the air. He’s got to be in some kind of cave...*
