Zaezel: *returns* [Please come with me, Traveler.] *he'll wait only for the two to stand and will lead the way to a big conference room, about twenty others seated within*

*Yugi follows easily. As they approach the conference room, Yami emerges to stand by his partner’s side. The two cross to the center, or wherever it looks like they’re expected to be*

*Aiza stands at the back of the room and Zaezel announces Yugi and Yami. Some look curious, others irritated at having their day interrupted, but everyone looks ready to listen. A spirit called them and a spirit seems ready to speak with them, so they will listen.*

Zaezel: [Please tell us how you came to Zezaneen, and why.] *just to give Yami and Yugi a place to start.*

Yami: *will do the talking* [I was summoned here, my partner drawn with me. *looks around at everyone, especially the ones who look irritated* How connected do all of you feel to the people you claim to serve, and how connected do you believe them to be to you?]

*No one looks irritated anymore.  People are shocked and upset that this has been done.*

Man: We are very connected to the people.  It’s for them that we do what we do. 

*agreement all around*

Aiza: *won’t look at anyone....ashamed.  They think they’re doing so well, and yet clearly they’ve not been going about this the right way...*

Yami: *arms crossed, his sheer presence making him seem taller than he really is - shakes his head* You serve them, you /tell/ them that you serve them, but how much do they really know for themselves? How much do they get to /see/ of what you do and why?

*Well they don't share everything. They don't want the people to worry. They do try to educate people...*
Aiza: *softly* We teach them that we need the Aeganok, but never truly explain why.

Yami: That might work for many, but not for everyone. People are terrified of the Aeganok, believing that anyone caught on the streets when it is out could be taken, that it hunts indiscriminately. There are those who think the priests round people up to sacrifice to the beast, chosen at random or worse, perhaps as punishment for dissent. "Behave, do as you're told, or you or someone you love will be fed to the Aeganok." There's a group who thinks that their planet's existance depending on the beast is a far-fetched tale, who are tired of living in fear, watching those around them be "brainwashed" into compliance. Why was I summoned here? Because they want me to kill the Aeganom and free them from your tyranny, as they see it.

*There's stunned silence all around, some even glancing at Aiza and Zaezel to confirm, which they do. Everyone looks worried.*
Priest: Please, you can't. Zezaneen /does/ need the Aeganok.
Preistess: We never meant to frighten the people. How can we...fix this?
