There are those who think the priests round people up to sacrifice to the beast, chosen at random or worse, perhaps as punishment for dissent. "Behave, do as you're told, or you or someone you love will be fed to the Aeganok." There's a group who thinks that their planet's existance depending on the beast is a far-fetched tale, who are tired of living in fear, watching those around them be "brainwashed" into compliance. Why was I summoned here? Because they want me to kill the Aeganom and free them from your tyranny, as they see it.
