Saber: *did tell him to take his time. So she's waiting when he's done.* I want you to find a job within my household tomorrow. I do not care what job so long as you find one.
TC: *still, "knows better" than to take "too long" so he's done quickly and rejoins her shortly . . . small frown of confusion* In addition to the arena fighting? *not arguing, just clarifying, had figured /that/ would be his place in the household*
Saber: The arenas, as today, won't be a daily occurrence. I don't want you spending all day staring off into space. You need to take a couple joors each day and do something productive. Perhaps help in the gardens, so you're outside. Doesn't matter, just something.
TC: ………….. *bows*
Saber: *glances at him* Do you have an argument against this? I would hear it if you do.
TC: No, Mistress. *it's just not something he's used to, and it means interacting more with others in the household…which could be a good or really bad thing, but that's not something to bring to one's master without concrete reason (and even /with/, sometimes)*
Saber: *nods* Have you flown today? *guessing not, but....*
TC: …no, Mistress. *should he have?*
Saber: Then take a joor and fly. You'll do so any day you are not otherwise occupied with me at the arena.
TC: *studies her a moment - no, really, is all this for real? Where's the trap?*
Saber: *looks at him* ...You are a flier, Thundercracker. Even more so, you are a Seeker. I am not going to deny you the skies.
TC: ……………….you'd be the first.
Saber: That doesn't surprise me. I treat my slaves with a measure of respect, Thundercracker. I don't want fear from my slaves, I want respect. To get respect, I must first be willing to give it. *she looks up from what she's working on to look at him again* Wouldn't you agree?
TC: *soft snort* What I think or agree with is of no consequence. *like leaving him the frag alone at night…her "respect" only goes so far, it seems . . . but he bows* I will return inside of a joor, Mistress. *if not stopped, he'll turn to leave*
Saber: *she said a measure of respect. She is still mistress and they her slaves. She won't stop him from leaving to fly*
TC: *goes flying, but…there's little joy in it, there's too much on his mind, uncertainty and distrust and…but at least if he's to be left alone most days, he'll be able to keep himself awake through the nights and catch up in the morning after Mistress leaves, that knowledge helps. When he returns from his flight, he’ll return to his Mistress.*
Saber: *still seems really busy.
She glances up at TC* You do not have to sit here with me. There is a small library down stairs if you wish to read, or you know where the holo is.
Or go socialize if you wish.
There’s no need for you to just sit there while I work, though.
