Aaron: *not bad himself! They talk and sung a bit until they reach the meadow. The open area stretches a good distance to more trees beyond.* This is one of— oh! Look! *points off to the right.* I was just going to say we might spot deer here.
Darnell: *soft gasp* Ah! *slowly pulls out his cell phone to get a photo, hoping not to frighten the animal off by moving too quickly*
Connor: *watching wide-eyed*
Doe: *lifts her head to study them, her two fawns playing in the tall grasses around her. She deems them not a threat and lowers her head to keep grazing.*
Darnell: *snaps a few photos, softly* They're beautiful. Any idea how old the fawns are?
Connor: *reaches out to look it up on reflex, frowns yet again for a moment at the lack of signal*
Aaron: Maybe a month. They might come by camp. See that white spot on the doe’s neck? We’ve come to call her Lily because she looks like she’s wearing a flower. I think she’s taken a liking to most people who camp at this site.
Darnell: That's really great. Hello, Lily! *just loud enough for her to hear him without actually yelling at her at all*
Connor: *scanning all three in depth to be able to ID later*
Lily: *raises her head to look at them again, ears forward. She’ll start walking their way.*
Darnell: *WIDE-EYED, voice a tight, excited whisper* S-she's coming toward us!
Connor: *mild, confused frown* Is that normal behavior for a deer? We're not threatening her young, and we have nothing to offer.
Aaron: *softly* You said her name, I think she’s come to recognize it.
Lily: *stops about four yards away, ears forward and studying them. The fauns have followed and are wary and staying behind their mom mostly. She’ll continue to very slowly stepping towards them.*
