Ralar: Yes. You can come to my estate. We can talk freely there.

Hellboy: Sure. Let me go leave a note for my colleagues first. Come with me back to the inn?

Ralar: *hesitates...but nods* All right.

*By the time they're getting back to the in, Darnell is also returning. No sign of Terris having been back yet, though.*

*And Ari isn't there, either.*

Hellboy: *spots Darnell, nods at the stairs up to their room, gives Ralar a look to follow*

Darnell: *troubled demeanor, gives Ralar a nod and will follow*

*Ralar's story will be corroborated when he steps in. The inn keeper is shocked to see him, and is instantly asking if there's anything he can get his lordship! Ralar softly assures the man that he's fine, he's just here to meet with someone.*

*Hellboy nods to himself. That still doesn't clear the guy of what's going on, but at least he's who he says he is. They'll start to head up to the room, but Hellboy thinks better of it and requests a meeting room or private dining room or something for them to go to. If this guy IS behind things, bad enough tonhave taken him to where they're staying, no call giving access to their room.*

Ralar: *won’t counter the request for a meeting here, but he does look mildly troubled. He thought they were leaving a note for Hellboy’s companions and then going to his estates where they could speak freely...*

Darnell: *troubled demeanor,found no one up in their room, so he's at a table with a beer watching for the others to return - he'd have left a note with the innkeeper but he's almost not sure who he can trust with his whereabouts if he goes back to that estate without /knowing/ his colleagues know where he is*
Hellboy: *nods to himself. That still doesn't clear the guy of what's going on, but at least he's who he says he is. He spots Darnell and at first isn't going to give away they're together, intending to go leave a note with the innkeeper, but as soon as they meet gazes, Hellboy realizes he needs to go talk to Darnell /now/, so he heads over to the table.*

Darnell: *gives the other man a nod of acknowledgement, then turns to Hellboy* Wanted to make sure one of you knew where I was. *glances at the other man again, not sure if he should say...but...* I was at the estate of Straff Venture earlier. I'll be heading back over shortly, now that I've talked to you.
Hellboy: ....... *to Ralar* That name mean anything to you?

Ralar: *keeps his voice low, only Darnell and Hellboy will hear.* He’s one of the wealthy merchants here. He’s known for being a fair businessman and generous to his staff. *a faint twist to his lips will say he doesn’t like the man.*

Hellboy: *was looking for any clues, nods, just as low* And you've got an unpopular opinion of him.
Darnell: *also caught it* We should find the rest of our party, make sure they're all right, before we move forward.

Ralar: ...I cannot give any founding evidence, but no, I do not like the man.

Darnell: *nods* Sometimes your gut can tell far more than your head. *to Hellboy* Let's go find Terris.
Hellboy: Way ahead of ya, Detective. *turning to head back out the door*
Darnell: *finishes his beer, leaving a tip, and is up and after him, giving Ralar a 'c'mon' nod if needed*

Ralar: *steps outside after them without a need for a nod from Darnell. The Master Detective will hear a distinctive and familar caw. Ralar raises his arm fora big raven to come land on his arm.*

((I’m horrible. XD Ralar really is a good guy, his “sttange” aura is from having two Inrie. A raven and a mongoose.))

Darnell: *INSTANT reaction to the bird's cry, DUCKING and backpedaling a bit as he looks around for the ugly thing, gaping openly when it lands on Ralar's arm...can't help giving Ralar a suspicious look*
Hellboy: *quirks an eye at him* Don't like birds?
Darnell: *tightly* ...don't like ravens. Too many bad experiences with them. *"and the men they're with" - doesn't say it...but the look he's giving Ralar says it for him*

Ralar: *eyes Darnell in return...but finally gives him a little smile.* He won’t bother you... and I’m not the enemy here, though I understand you will have to reach that conclusion yourself.
