Grevel: *soft snort* You? Apologize for that? *seems amused* Where are you from?

Darnell: ………not this world. We don't have giants. Ah…tarok.

Grevel: *frowns* No tarok? What are there?

Darnell: Just humans, or I guess you'd say hecha. And plants and animals.

Grevel: *grunts* Interesting. You said you’re a detective?

Darnell: *nods* And it looks like I've got a new case...figuring out how in the world to get back home.

Grevel: ...I’ll take you to hecha lands when the rain stops.

Darnell: Thank you, Grevel. Will you tell me about this world in the meantime? About your people, about the hecha, about anything?

Grevel: *shrugs* What about them? *sorry, Darnell, he doesn’t know what you don’t know to be able to tell you about it.*

Darnell: *not really sure where to start either . . . okay, tech level might be good - they'll likely chat for some time as Darnell tries to learn about tech level, social structure, culture, etc…not just for the hecha but the tarok as well.*

*Grevel doesn't know much about the hecha. The tarok are kind of solitary people. They keep to themselves, and the bigger one is, the more respect they garner, it’s why he was able to take Darnell from Keklev. As far as tech, the tarok don’t need much. What he sees is about standard for his people.*

Grevel: what do you eat?

Darnel: Mn? Oh, ah... *will give a quick rundown of general foods*

Grevel: *grunts an acknowledgement and will scoop Darnell into his palm and stand. He moves to a counter and will set Darnell on his feet, then start getting stuff out to cook.*

Darnell: *will get him talking…or will /do/ the talking if Grevel would prefer, pulling out his journal for notes and sketches*

Grevel: *isn’t much of a talker, so he’ll mostly listen to Darnell, ask occasional questions, and just generally let Darnell lead the conversation. Soon, it really is getting late. Darnell lapses in topic for a moment and Grevel stands.* It’s late. I’ll move you to your bed, you can sleep when you want.

Darnell: Thanks. *will grab the makeshift chamberpot to take with, asking Grevel put some water in it once he's found a place for it /not/ too close to the bed but still within reach (to help hold the smell of whatever he inevitably puts into it)*

Gravel: *will add a bit of water to the “bucket” and put it near the bed, then he’ll scoop Darnell up and move him.* Sleep well.

Darnell: *will catch and squeeze a finger in lieu of Grevel's arm or shoulder* Thank you. You too.

*The night will pass. The rain will stop partway through and as light breaks Grevel will stir and then get up. He’ll leave Darnell be to sleep.*

Darnell: *restless night, doesn't actually get much sleep, and as quiet as Grevel may try to be, a giant that size moving around is /not/ going to fail to wake him . . . he sits up* Good morning, Grevel.

Grevel: *grunts* Morning. Sleep okay?

Darnell: *no but...* Well enough. Thanks. *had mostly undressed to get comfortable, gets up to pull himself back together*

Grevel: *grunts.* Away from home, starnge place, and not even a proper bed... guess “well enough” is all that can be expected. Hungry?
