*When Darnell wakes in the morning, he’ll know something’s wrong. He’s fevered, covered with sweat and yes trembling with a deep chill.  Ari wakes him, nuzzling him gently*

Ari: D-Darnell? *worried* Darnell, please wake up...

Darnell: *shudders, having a /hard/ time waking* Nnnn, w-what? What is...nnn....

Ari: *nuzzles him.* Stay awake. Stay with me. *he’ll move to wake Zanthe.* Zanthe. Zanthe please wake up. Darnell is in trouble.
Zanthe: *knowing Ari is on wach, she startles awake at his voice, sitting up.* What? What is it? *whispering, and struggling to wake.*
Ari: *softly, but not whispering.* Darnell isn’t okay. He needs help. *WORRIED!*
Zanthe: *turns to Darnell, a hand going to his face.* Oh Life Light. Come on. I meed to get you outside. .*won’t really make him try to help, she’ll just pick him up and move them outside.*

Darnell: *gasps and /moans/ in pain, but doesn't resist at all*

Zanthe: *will get his wound unwrapped. Definitely infected.* Damn. Chew this until your mouth goes numb, them stop. If you feel you can sleep after that, then do. *holds a small fuzzy leaf to his lips.*

Darnell: *moaning and shifting, will do as told*

*His body will quickly go numb. Zanthe will give him warning if this. Once numb she’ll open his wounds to clean out the infection... she isn’t worried about being gentle, only thorough. She’ll be at it a good while before she’s satisfied, wounds stuffed with an antibiotic mixture and left open to drain for now.*

Darnell: *just...just lays there, staring at the sky and letting her work - it's so weird to not feel /anything/...*

Zanthe: *careful as she picks him up and moves him to a place she’s prepared with as much padding as possible...and Ari playing pillow pile so Darnell is sitting up a bit. She wipes his face and goves him a reassuring smile.* You should start to be able to feel things again soon. When you feel you can chew without biting your tongue or cheek without realizing, let me know and I’ll give you something for pain before the numbness wears off. For now, don’t try to speak or move, and again, if you can sleep, do so. You’re going to be fine. Promise.

Darnell: *apprehensive but calm, nods and will close his eyes, trying to pass back out*
