Jazira: *her smile warms.* I’m glad she had a loving family to raise her. Now, finish eating, you need your strength.

Darnell: *nods* I look forward to seeing her with the rest of my family, the next time I get home for a visit. *will finish eating*

Jazira: Is your sister a wielder? *just chatting now...kinda...*

Darnell: *nods* Air. *shakes his head with a fond grin* She has the most amazing eyes. Silver. They’re /so/ pretty. Your son? *a wielder?*

Jazira: *smiles and nods.* Water. His eyes are so blue they’re like seeing a painting. *a beat* I’m a Spirit wielder. *eyes him. She’s offering to heal him. She did enough to keep him alive, but hadn’t dared do anything noticeable before, but now...*

Darnell: *eyes widen a bit…then widen some more as the full implication of that hits him – no fear or judgment, just startled* You’re… *faint frown, curious (and a little concerned but more for himself than anything)* Are /you/ the real reason I survived, despite the good doctor’s best efforts? Considering the state I must have been in when you found me. *again, no judgment, just wants to know*

Jazira: Yes. I healed your internal wounds so you would not bleed to death.

Darnell: *nodbows from where he’s sitting* Then I am all the more in your debt. Thank you. *it doesn’t even occur to him to ask her to do more or think she might*

Jazira: I could complete healing you, but it will hurt a lot as I do, so I leave that up to you.

Darnell: ...........I've heard that Spirit healing /hurts/...a /lot/... *debating - he really needs to get back on the case, and he's no use to anyone as he is now...*

Jazira: It is very painful. It is just the nature of the healing. *but will leave this to him.*

Darnell: ................ *nods* I need to be at my best to deal with whoever's behind this. *small but wicked grin* Besides, if they see me quite well when I should be quite dead, maybe it'll trip them up and I'll get the break in this case that I need.

Jazira: *grin turns a little wicked too.* I like how you think, Detective. When you are ready, just say. Spirit requires touch, skin to skin.

Darnell: *pulls a breath, shrugs* As tbey say, now or never. *he's finished eating, so...*

Jazira: *yeah...probably should have offered before he finished two plates of food, hopefully he won’t sick up from the pain. She offers her hand.*

Darnell: *takes it before he can think too much about what he's just agreed to have done to him*

Jazira: *he’ll feel a tingle spread through his body before his muscles lock up and then PAIN lances through his ribs. It only lasts a few seconds before easing, and then the swollen eye and cut lip will feel like he’s been struck again only with lightening this time. These are smaller, though, and last an even shorter time. He’ll feel a strange...discomfort for a bit longer before his muscles release and she lets go of his hand. He’s still weak, still achy though not as much and not the same as before, and perhaps slightly naseous from so much pain on a very full stomach...*

*sneaks a tag between major tasks*

Darnell: *goes /rigid/, eyes widening in PAIN and a flash of instinctive /terror/ . . . once it's over, he starts to slump, catching himself with a /huff/ and a /shudder/ before straightening again* O-oww... *okay, just...just breathe...*

*Snuggles*

Kalan: *had returned in time to see that. He’s come up behind Darnell and to one side a bit, snd will rest a hand on his shoulder.* Hurts like hell, doesn't it? You’ll feel much better shortly, though.

*comes up gasping for air again*

Darnell: *flinches from the contact a little on reflex, head snapping up to look . . . soft huff of a laugh* Remind me not to do that again. *glances a wry grin at Jazira - he's kidding (mostly)*

*tosses a life ring.*

Kalan: *chuckles.* Hey, it’s better than the alternative. C’mon. The good doctor is ready, and you certainly seem well enough to go now.

Darnell: *low chuckle, nods* This is true. *pulls a breath and pushes himself to his feet, offers Jazira a bow* My lady, thank you again for your care, in finding me and everything since.

Jazira: *smiles* My pleasure. I am glad you are a good man, it has made helping you very rewarding.
*Darnell will still feel a weakness in his body, his knees feel like they’re trembling under him, but he’ll be able to walk fine, and after a few ateps he’ll start feeling more stable.*
Kalan: *right there in case Darnell’s legs decide to dump him anyway.* You’ll likely feel weak for a few hours yet. You should feel yourself again by the time we reach ((Village)) though.
