Shark: *council member in the far left, a great white mer.* What brings you before us? *clearly addressing Yugi.*

Yugi: *bows – it’s habit – but he’s straightened and meeting his/her gaze as he answers*  My companion - *gestures to indicate Yami* - wants to return home, closer to family. He and I are bonded and I have promised to take him, but I’m lost. My friends - *indicates Ralin and Azure – yep, he caught about not using their names* - have offered to lead me, but need the council’s permission to travel that far.

Manta: *middle* It is unheard of for a water man to be aware, what makes you different? *to Yami, of course.*

Yami: [To be honest, I don’t know for sure. I do know that my partner and I are closely bound and that I owe a great deal to him.]

Seahorse: *to Yugi.* The shore is dangerous, what convinced your counsel to let you not only travel for shore, but to one so far from home?

Yugi: It is, but . . . he’s already lost so much. Everything, really. It’s not right to deny him even family and his friends, at least getting to see them.

Swordfish: That is a big responsibility for one so young. I understand you're bonded, why were you allowed to go alone? *or was he? What happened to his companions if he wasn't alone?*

Yugi: We’re bound. He’s my responsibility.

Yami: [We had companions when we started, but there was a terrible accident and they were lost. Aibou is the only survivor. We were fortunate.] *of course, Yami’s referring to the plane crash, but it still works*

Angelfish: We are sorry for your loss, and admire your courage and determination to continue on. That shows much maturity for one so young. *she looks at Ralin and Azure.* And two others so young are seeking to join you. *shakes head* I cannot say I like this. You may go, but another will join you, one of our choosing, to keep you safe.

Ralin: *kind of seems to sag*

Azure: *shows no reaction, just nods acceptance* Thank you, Counsel. *she'll turn to go, glancing at Yugi to get him to follow her.*

Ralin: *murmurs* Thank you, Counsel. *and he too will turn to leave, motioning for Yugi and Yami to follow Azure*

Yugi: *bows* Thank you, Counsel.
Yami: *nods, follows with Yugi*

*they'll head back to the room they were in before to wait. Azure looks a little tense, arms crossed as she waits calmly. Ralin could be said to be pacing with how he darts from one spot to the next.*
Ralin: We can't have another with us! What happens when we get to shore a d you have to turn Yugi back?! *Azure just glances a frown at him.* what if he finds out about the spell I know. *face in hands he lets out a soft moan.*

Yugi: *hunched, gaze down* I'm sorry, guys.
Yami: *small frown, arms crossed* We'll figure it out. *it's a game of sorts...the Heart of the Cards will see them through, just as it always has*

Azure: *rests a hand on Yugi's shoulder.* Don't apologize. You have nothing to apologize for. I...kind of expected this. We are still considered young. *she'll tell Yugi how many tides they are and when he does the math it'll basically come down to the fact that they're both about 250 years old!* It shouldn't be a surprise to any of us that they're wanting to send a guardian with us.

Yugi: *that's...yeah, that's HELLA old to him...but he'd already had an idea these creatures live FAR longer than humans with what Ralin had told Yami about his friend . . . he just nods, stillfeels bad, though.*

*After a bit a big mer swims in and looks over the three. The two younger stare at him with almost matching pleading faces. He's big, his form that of a bull shark.*
Mer: I'm your guardian.
Ralin: *groans, burying his face in his hands.*
Azure: *eyes are wide and she almost looks like she's gonna be sick.*
Mer: As soon as you're all ready, we'll go.

Yugi: *looking between him and his new friends* ........
Yami: *not liking those reactions at all* [Will you give us a few minutes?] *in private...*

Mer: *nods* I'll be waiting in the open. *or outside the cave. He'll leave them to talk.*

Yami: *nods* [Thank you.] *onfe he's out of hearing, to the others* [What's wrong?]

Ralin: This is terrible. If it was /anyone/ but him we might be okay, but not with him!
Azure: *quick to jump in.* He is a /good/ person, Yami. That is not the problem.
Ralin: He's an old barnacle!
Azure: He is a general.
Ralin: He'll not let this happen...
Azure: He will. *gaze drops then she looks at the boys.* But we will be in a lot of trouble when this is over....and I cannot promise he won't try to kill you when he sees what you really are.
Ralin: *stops "pacing" and gapes at her in horror.* You really think he would?!
Azure: No...but I can't promise that he won't. He is very set in his ways and follows rules. He is a good person, but seeing as we are breaking many rules this whole thing is not likely to end well for us...and maybe not you. I'm sorry. And asking for a different guardian may only result in the counsel changing their minds about letting any of us go, including you. *looks at Yugi.*
