*The next day will be the same morning routine, but then Terris will make more food... and pack it up to take with them. And off they'll head for the ruins! Terris will definitely encourage Connor to poke around and explore.*

Connor: *unconsciously excited to go back to the ruins, and will /definitely/ take advantage of exploring, though he's careful to scan the area and test places to make sure they're safe before entering*

Terris: *will show him to some of the more notable places. A fountain at the center of town; a row of broken columns lining a boulevard makes for a striking image, and one building has beautiful artwork on the walls.  In that building Connor will notice something that Terris would have had no reason to note... a small bulge in the wall that clearly has computer components within it that Connor's scanners will pick up. They still have power, if very little, but it should be enough to hack it and access whatever the panel is meant to open.*

Connor: *small, thoughtful frown* Terris! Over here... *as he steps up to study the bulge*

Terris: *steps over* What is it?

Connor: Do you know what this is? *pointing at the bulge - he'll attempt to hack it in a moment, but wanted to ask Terris about it first* Connor: Do you know what this is? *pointing at the bulge - he'll attempt to hack it in a moment, but wanted to ask Terris about it first*

Terris: *shakes his head* No. I figured it was part of the wall art.

Connor: No . . . it's a mechanism. There are computer components underneath! Even though that shouldn't be possible in this world. *looks at Sirrah - does she know anything?*

Terris: *brow goes up! Leans in* Can you...make it work?

Sirrah: *little shrug* I only found this world in the last one hundred years. *she doesn't know about this tech, but she can sense it too.*

Connor: .......it's weak, but . . . there /is/ still power. I may be able to hack into it. *raises his left hand to it, the skin bleeding back under the sleeve to reveal the white, jointed structure underneath. He presses his hand over the bulge, his knuckles and palm glowing blue as he attempts to access the circuitry in the wall*

*The security protocols are...difficult... they're in a different  language, but after a bit of just kind of... poking around in a sense, he'll finally manage. There's a loud clack and a hiss, and the wall right beside the bulge will shift back and turn inward, revealing a set of stairs leading down. Electric lights hum to life, a couple of the bulbs popping and burning out, but most of them casting a sterile white light into the stairway*

Connor: *LED swirls yellow as he he closes his eyes, concentrating on cracking the protocols . . . at the clack and hiss, the LED flashes red for an instant before going back to solid yellow, then solid blue - he looks pleased with himself as he glances at Terris before heading down the stairs*

Terris: *absolutely /amazed/ as he follows Connor down the stairs and into a room.*

*Dust has settled over everything, but it looks like there's a person sized pod near one wall and... the remains of a skeleton slumped against one end of said pod. The rest of the room is small with some cabinets and the like. And...that pod is functioning still... at full power from what Connor can tell. He'll also pick up readings of life within it.*

Connor: *soft gasp* There's someone in there! *rushes over to the pod, gently but firmly moving the skeleton off it*

*The skeleton will crumble to dust nearly as soon as Connor touches it. It’s been here a LONG TIME. The pod has another panel, similar to the door panel upstairs. It will be much easier to hack as it’s not secured, just running a program.*

Terris What? You mean alive? *that can’t be possible! But he steps over, ready to do what he can... well, today go surreal...*
