Zanthe: You don't have to sustain yourself. Just work, help, be willing to learn. You will /not/ be the first who comes here with no skills to offer. A lot of the j'har here are runaways from up north with no skills other than serving their master. You'll be fine, Darnell. Trust me.
Darnell: ...*nods* I just don't want to be a burden, nor do I want to test anyone's generosity. Where I'm from, even the most generous and well-intentioned social programs fall short of people's actual needs, leaving them perpetually suffering and scrambling to get by from month to month and day to day.
Zanthe: You won't be a burden. I'm sure of it.
Darnell: *nods* Thank you. *is ready to follow her, standing with one hand on Ari's shoulder*
Ari: *staying /close/ to Darnell, nervous of people...*
Zanthe: All right, go on and pick out some clothes. Three to five sets. I’ll meet you back by the door.
Darnell: ...*ventures into the warehouse, gazing around at everything, really impressed...hand brushes over some journals as he passes them, finally finds and gathers three sets of clothes, doesn't want to be greedy*
*Zanthe will have a bag for him, much like his own satchel, but a bit bulkier, when he meets her back by the door.*
Zanthe: I’ve got you everything you should need for keeping clean. Soap for your hair and body, towels, some scrub brushes, including one for your teeth, and a razor to shave with. *grins* And a little surprise.
*that little surprise will be a couple blank journals with some graphite. She saw how much he filled up the one he’d come here with, and how he eyed the ones near the front as he passed them, so...
