If you do let him /heal/ you, though, he won't touch your mind. You'll know it. You can feel where Spirit is in you, it tingles where it touches.
Darnell: It's a kind of energy, then?
Zanthe: *nods* Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd say it is.
Darnell: ........ *nods* I see. How long have you known Mathais?
Zanthe: Um... seven years? Yeah, I've been here for seven years now.
Darnell: *nods, thoughtful - doesn't want to insult their friendship by asking if she trusts him and really does think he'll be able to do what he says...*
Zanthe: *he doesn't have to ask...she touches his arm again.* I trust him... if that helps. I know he'll do only as he says.
Darnell: ............was it wrong of me not to accept his offer right away? Are healing and altering people's minds commonplace in this world?
Zanthe: Honey, it’s /your/ body, you have every right to accept or reject what he was offering. You weren’t wrong. I simply wanted you to know that I trust him to do as he says, that if you /do/ choose to let him do anything to you, he’ll do only what he says he’ll do. And no, actually, it’s not, not extensively anyway. Most places in the world Inriomai are completely unknown, and j’har who can wield aren’t very... accepted, and in many places they’d be killed if discovered. So, no, it’s not commonplace, and you weren’t wrong to not accept right away.
