*Elsewhere, Hellboy and the others have settled in the dining area for food. Someone's even made a stone seat for Hellboy so he can sit at the table with everyone else. He's in the middle of eating when he'll feel tiny arms wrap his waist from behind, a small head presses to the small of his back just above his tail.*

Hellboy: */flinches/, half-shifting around, then just lifts an arm to look under at what's around his waist* ??

*A small child giggles*

Jerrin: *smiles and is on Hellboy's other side* Hi Red.

Hellboy: *to the others around the table* Guys, I think I just developed a new growth. *sees Jerrin* Hey! Good to see you, kid! Where's your sister? *by the grin on his face, he knows exactly where she is*

Naijah: *leans back to look* Yeh should keep it, it's an improvement on yehr looks. *grins at Hellboy*

Jerrin: *soft laugh and shrugs* I think she went to say hi to someone. *his grin says he's playing along.*

Hellboy: *shoots Naijah a mock-insulted frown, then reaches around with his flesh hand* Hang on, I think...I think I got something... *will tickle Kendra*

Kendra: *squeals and laughs, edging around towards his stone hand.*

Hellboy: Oh, you don't want to go that way, kiddo. *twists the other way and just kind of /covers/ her with his stone arm, blocking her from retreating back the other way, hand completely engulfing her bottom and thighs* Gotcha! *she's pressed lightly to the back of his hip*

Kendra: *Just /giggles/ and squeezes him as tightly as her tiny arms can squeeze.*

Hellboy: *will twist further, getting his flesh hand involved to scoop her up into his lap* Hey there, Little Bit. How have you been? *glances to include Jerrin in that question*

Kendra: *all giggles as she's pulled around into his lap. She snuggles against him, then reaches up to rest a hand on his cheek*

Jerrin: We've been really good. We were adopted. Captain Sadeas.

Hellboy: */grinning/ back* Damn, you're too cute for your own good. *looks at Jerrin* That's great! Congratulations. *to the rest of the table* This is Jerrin, and this little giggle-monster is his sister, Kendra. *gives her a quick tickle as he says it*

Kendra: *that certainly earns him more /giggles/*

Jerrin: *waves, a bit of a shy grin* Hello.

Naijah: *will introduce himself, Virah, Wes, and Relis* It’s nice teh meet yeh both.

Jerrin: *looks up at Hellboy* How long are you guys going to be here?

Hellboy: It's late enough, we'll stay the night, but then we should head back to the DuPrey estate in the morning. And then Barrett and I will need to head home.

Jerrin: *nodnod* Did you guys end up on a case?

Hellboy: *wry grin* We came here for a vacation. Our intention had been to visit friends, come see how you two were doing...but yeah, we did. Good thing, too. The lives of hundreds of people will hopefully be improving a /lot/ now that one evil bastard is out of the picture.

Kendra: *puts her fingers over Hellboy’s mouth* No.
Jerrin: *snerklaughs* He’s an adult, Kendra. He’s allowed to say bad words if he wants to.
Kendra: No.

Hellboy: *confused at her gesture and comment - no what? - then snorts a laugh after Jerrin's remark* Kid, by you and your brother's age, I was drinking, smoking, and gambling with the best of them. Or worst. *an aside to the others at the table* I was raised by a bunch of war-hardened soldiers on a remote Army base. *looks at Kendra, quirking a grin* But I guess you're right. Should watch my mouth around tender ears, eh?

Kendra: *approving nod at the last and snuggles to his chest.*
Jerrin: I’ll be right back. *gonna get some dinner for him and his sister.*
Naijah: *snickering* That was precious.
Virah: Scolded by a child. Adorable. *grinning*
Wes: *even he has a small smile on his face.*
Relis: *looks amused as he eats his dinner*

Hellboy: *crooked grin, cradling her* What can I say? I have a soft spot for cute things.

Kendra: *aw, Red. That earns Hellboy a sweet little grin and a kiss on the cheek.*
jerrin: *returns with food.* Kendra, come eat. *will set thier plates beside Hellboy when Naijah grins and scoots over to make room for them.*

Hellboy: *chuckles, ruffling her hair, then shifts her off his lap to the bench next to her brother*

Kendra: *will happily eat her dinner, leaned lightly against Hellboy*
*They’ll eat, they’ll chat, Kendra will move back to Hellboy’s lap, and a vit later Darnell will come in with his dishes, Ari at his side.*

Hellboy: *easily cradling the tiny girl in his giant arms*
Darnell: *steps over to the table, grinning - to Hellboy* I see they found you. *nodding at the kids*
Hellboy: *crooked grin* This one's been attached for at least a half-hour. She might have to be surgically removed.
Darnell: How about therigan-removed? *gestures at Ari, to Kendra with a grin* Told you I'd bring him when he woke back up.

Ari: *shy grin*
Kendra: *grins and will slipp from Hellboy’s lap to wrap tiny arms around Ari’s meck amd bury her face in his fur*
Ari: *happy little noise and kind of melts, hugging her close.*
Naijah: *chuckles* Well, that worked quickly.

Darnell: *snickers* Figured it would. It was almost a surgical removal to get her away from snuggling him while he was still sleeping so she could come get dinner.
Hellboy: She's eaten and he's awake. We may still need that surgery.

Ari: *jokingly* Mmm, can I keep her. *peeks at Darnell, a little sheepish for having actually said that.*

Darnell: *snickers* While we're here? Sure. Better ask her brother first, though. And her daddy.

Ari: *perks* Daddy? They have a daddy? *looks between the kids* You have a daddy?
Kendra: *nods against him, face stiff burried in his fur.*
Jerrin: *grins* Captain Sadeas addopted us.
Ari: Oh! That’s so wonderful!

Darnell: Yup!
Hellboy: *will stand and start gathering dishes*

*Naijah will do the same.*
Sadeas: I see they found you. *motions at the kids, addressing Darnell and Hellboy as they return from dropping off their dishes.*

Hellboy: *quirks a grin* They did.
Darnell: Captain, thank you /so/ much for loving them and taking them in as family. They're both delightful and deserve a good home, and someone who'll understand Kendra.

Sadeas: *smiles* You don't have to convince me. They’ve been a delight.

Darnell: *offers his hand, thanking the captain again* We might have a bit of trouble separating these two again, though. *said with a grin, looking at Kendra and Ari*

Sadeas: *chuckles and crouches behind Kendra.* That’s easy. *tickles her*
Kendra: *squeals! And laughs and squirms and finally turns to glomp onto her daddy.*
Sadeas: *standa with her.* See?
Ari: *laughing* Aww.

Hellboy: *crooked grin* Well, that was easy.
Darnell: *just snickering, leans in to give her a kiss on the head* Are you off-duty now, then?

Sadeas: *nods* Until tomorrow morning. I’d love to hear what you’ve all been up to, if you’re willing to share.

Darnell: Not at all. Move to a sitting room or something? *kind of addressed to everyone*

*There are nods all around and the group will move off to somewhere comforable to settle and chat.*

*Sadeas will hear all about the new protections around the village Terris introduced them to - and about the village itself if he doesn't already know - and then about going after Brogan and how all that went down. And if he - or the others - want to hear, they'll talk about some of their work back home and what they each do.*
