*There are...remnants of bodies around the symbol on the ground, though the most prominent is the body right in the middle of it with arms slashed from elbows to palms.*

*It's not like anything Darnell has seen before, though when Hellboy has finished with the monsters... and he /will/ deal with the monsters... Hellboy will recognize it as a summoning circle, though there's something off about it. Probably why it summoned and /area/, and not /just/ monsters.*

*Other than the otherwise empty warehouse, there's a small office near the back. Poking around in there, Darnell will find it amazingly clean, but stacked neatly on the desk are papers with writing. It looks like a letter at first, but will prove to be more like a journal of, presumably, the man who killed himself in the middle of the summoning circle. He rants about the world and how terrible it is, and how he's going to end the world by bringing hell to earth.*

Darnell: ................well, he seems to have gotten that partly right. *grimacing as he reads . . . will continue poking around, seeing if he can find anything on the ritual itself - if he understands the mechanics, maybe he can try to reverse engineer how to destroy it, or UNsummon all the monsters, or.../something/*

*He'll start finding clues. Casey has seen all she cares to and is waiting by the door now, keeping watch until Hellboy can join them. Darnell...won't like seeing the solution being. It seems it may require the blood of an innocent, given willingly.*

Darnell: *grimacing - how /much/? And what constitutes an "innocent"*

Hellboy: *finally dispatches or runs off the last of the petal-heads. He's bruised, scratched, bitten, and covered in blood, but hey...he won. He'll head into the warehouse, pausing at the sight on the ground, /grimaces/* That's never good.

Casey: You beat them?! *straightens and glances at the office before heading towards Hellboy. She'll give him a wry grin as she gets close* Heh, you smell worse than I do now.

Hellboy: *smirks* Tends to come with the territory, kid.

Casey: *motions at the office* I think mister sniper found something.

Hellboy: *that gets a /laugh/ out of him and he follows readily . . . tho the grin fades when he sees the look on Darnell's face* What?
Darnell: .......... *waves him over* Come tell me if I'm misinterpreting anything. *his journal with notes and his thoughts is laid open on the desk among the papers he's been studying*
Hellboy: *frowns and crosses to stand by him, looking over the materials himself*

Casey: *takes post at the door again, the adults are distracted with papers, she's their defense if any big (or little) nasties come in here. They’ll say something to her if they need her.*
*And yes, Darnell is reading it right. The only way to disrupt the evil and banish it is to spill the blood of an innocent in the center of the circle, but the safrifice must be a willing one.*

Darnell: *fretting* It doesn't say how much is needed.
Hellboy: *frowning, wracking his brain for any scraps of counter-magic and ritual-breaking he can think of* If the sacrifice is willing, it shouldn't take much. It's the unwilling ones that need more for the magic to take hold. *nods out the door to the warehouse proper* Or when you're breaking barriers that aren't meant to be broken and summoning really nasty crap like that guy did.
Darnell: How do we do this, though? I'm not...innocent, not like this requires.
Hellboy: *frown deepening* And I'm not "innocent" by any measure. *looks at Casey*
Darnell: *realizes where he's looking* ...no. Hellboy, no!
Hellboy: *has already stepped over by the door, gently touching the girl's shoulder with his flesh hand* Casey, you need to come see this.

Casey: *looks at him, out at the glowing symbol, then back at Darnell. She frowns, Darnell looks upset.* What is it? *will move to follow Hellboy*

Hellboy: *takes her place at the door, but will split his attention to stay in the conversation*
Darnell: *studies her a moment* ...Casey, first I have to ask you something. It might seem inappropriate, and you might feel offended, but please just answer the question, okay? I wouldn't be asking if it weren't relevant to all this. *gestures at the door, meaning the ritual out there*

Casey: *eyeing them suspiciously* Okaaaay...? What’s the question?

Darnell: *pulls a breath* Are you a virgin? *before she can answer (and even Hellboy's head snaps around in shock at that)* It's a valid question! With absolutely no thanks to our father, both my sisters lost their virginity at a fraction of your age. So, even if you had no choice, has anyone ever touched you, or are you still a virgin?
Hellboy: ...damn, detective... *not really wanting to interrupt, but how does he /not/ react at least somewhat?*

Casey: */gapes/ at him, but the rest gives her a chance ti tecover. She looks back out the door past Hellboy...* This thing requires a...virgin sacrifice or something? *doesn’t wait for an answer, she’s a smart girl.* I am. What do you need me to do? *hands clenched, and if either touch her they’ll feel her shaking. But Darnell laid it out before, if this spreads...the world could end... billions of lives...*

Darnell: ...or something. *puts a comforting hand on her shoulder, feels the trembling, won't say anything - he'd have been more worried if she /weren't/, it'd mean she didn't get the scope and gravity of the situation. But she's not only smart, she courageous, and he won't disrespect that by commenting* It doesn't say it requires a life, just blood, and it doesn't even say how much. Hellboy doesn't think it should be much.
Hellboy: *glances at her and shakes his head* The power's in the purity of the offering and the energy it's given with. So long as it's the blood of an innocent and it's freely, willingly given, that's where the power comes from. *gives her a wry grin* Freely giving's not a problem. I would in a heartbeat, and I think the good detective here would too. But the purity part? You've got more power than the both of us combined, kiddo.
Darnell: I have a first aid kit in my satchel. We drip enough in the centet of the circle to break it, and I'll get the cut wrapped right up. Sound good? *to both of them, since Hellboy would have a better idea what's needed in the details*

Casey: *that it’s not necessarily her /life/ that’s needed helps, a lot, but she can’t stop shaking. She swollows and nods.* Yeah. S-*clears her throat* Sounds good.

Darnell: …………. */hugs/ her* It's going to be all right. We'll get out of here, all three of us.
Hellboy: Better do this sooner than later, in case we have company drop by for a visit.

Casey: *clings to him, and nods* Yeah. Let’s get this over with.

*Darnell will keep an arm around Casey, snugging her close, as he follows Hellboy back out onto the floor of the warehouse. Hellboy will step into the circle first, crossing the boundary and tensing for any reaction.*

*No reaction. The spell is set and won’t be disturbed... the madman in the center was sure the monsters would kill anyone “innocent” long before anyone learned an innocent was needed, if anyone survived to learn as much.*
Casey: *holding to Darnell, are around his waist. She still has her shovel in her other hand.*

Hellboy: …………..all right, come on. *will lead them to the center, then crouches to reach for the body* Darnell, help me spin him around - head down there, feet up here.
Darnell: *gives Casey a quick /snug/ before letting her go to help rearrange the body*
Hellboy: We're reversing his body position. That'll also help with the energy of reversing and undoing what's been done. Shift his limbs so he's spread-eagle. Think pentacle-shaped. All right . . . *looks up at Casey* You familiar with chakras, kid?

Casey: *makes herself not look away as thry work, even though it makes her feel sick. She shakes her head.* No...

Hellboy: Chakras are spinning points of concentrated energy within the body. His are long gone, but we should still be able to use the points where they /were/. I'll get a cut on your arm going, and then your job is to drip on him where I tell you. Got that? *once she replies, he looks at Darnell* Your job is to help keep her steady, and then get her /out/ of the circle. Take care of her arm if you /can/, but concentrate on her safety first. And your own.
Darnell: *grim nod*

Casey: *nodnod* ...What if this takes more thank just some drips?

Hellboy: *wry smirk* Then I start fingerpainting. *drawing sigils in the blood - crouches down over the body, motioning for her to do the same opposite him* All right, roll up a sleeve.
Darnell: *kneels next to her, an arm loosely around her shoulders*

Casey: *trembling softly, but visibly now as she steps up across from Hellboy and (after handing Darnell her shovel) rolls up her sleeves. She does both just because, maybe she’s stalling just a little...but finally she holds her arm out to Hellboy.*

Hellboy: *pulls out a dagger while she's distracted with her sleeves, keeping it behind him out of sight. It's a ritual dagger, an athame, not meant to be used for cutting physical things /usually/, but it's still keenly sharp. Once she's ready, he'll gently take her arm in his stone hand, cradled so that the underside of her forearm is up* Casey, look at me. Keep your eyes on mine, all right? You're doing great. *once she's looking at him, he'll covertly move his flesh hand out from behind him, dagger flipped backwards so the blade is out of sight under his forearm. He'll nonchalantly move his flesh hand and the blade to be hidden under his stone hand.* I didn't ask you to do this, and neither did Darnell. You volunteered. Do you still? You are willing and doing this of your own free will? If you are, say so clearly.

Casey: *pulls her haze up to meet his, a hint of tears in her eyes. It’ll take her a moment to speak, just trying to make sure she speaks clearly.* Y-yes. Yes, I choose to do this to keep others from being killed, or losing their loved ones.

Hellboy: *nods and whips his flesh hand up and over his stone one, leaving a slash across Casey's forearm too quickly for her to react - it's not deep, but it's a few inches long, so the blood will run freely enough if left unchecked*
Darnell: *can't help /flinching/ at the quick motion and the blood, /snugging/ Casey to him*

Casey: *gasps! A soft strangled noise in the back of her throat - she’s learned to react /quietly/ in the last two week, because sound draws monsters. She finally pulls her eyes from Hellboy to look at her arm. It doesn’t hurt, the cut is so clean even that it takes a moment to even start bleeding. She watches as the blood finally starts to flow. Hellboy won’t get a chance to direct where the blood falls, because as soon as a drop hits the body between them it’s as though someone turns on a vacuum that starts to /suck/ the blood from her. She quickly loses color in her face and slumps back into Darnell*
*Removing her from the spell form will stop the succionting away of her blood, but them the spell form starts to glow brighter and starts sucking in things around it. Hellboy will want to get out and get the humans away if he (and they) doesn’t want to be pulled to the realm full of monster for good. Casey’s blood has formed a disc, acting almost like a black hole as it draws in the evil summoned here. It’ll start with the body in the spell form...and then the doors to the warehouse are /shuddering/.*

Hellboy: Ah! */closes/ his stone hand around her forearm, stopping the suction of blood from the girl as much as possible* Move, MOVE! *shoves to his feet, wrapping his arms around both Casey and Darnell to /haul/ them out of the circle*
Darnell: *has wrapped himself protectively around Casey, pressing her forearm to her chest as soon as Hellboy let go of it*
*Hellboy will drag them across the warehouse to the back door, /ripping/ it off its hinges to get everyone outside.*

*He...won’t get a chance to rip the door away. In fact he’ll likely realize they need to get out of the way of the door as front and back doors, and all the windows /implode/, monsters and mist flying through the air to the disc of blood sucking them in. It’ll take a moment, but Hellboy will finally get an opening to haul his charges outside. Since they’re not the targets of the soell reversal, once outside the pull from the spell form will stop for them, but a town’s worrh of monsters are flowing by in a violent toerrent. It’s like a horror version of the end of Jumanji. It’ll be a while before this ends, and Casey’s arm is still dripping blood.*

*Hellboy and Darnell will struggle to get away from the warehouse, supporting Casey between them, till they can tuck themselves into a spot where they're sheltered from the flow of monsters. Once there, Hellboy will hold Casey while Darnell numbs and wraps her arm.*

Casey: *pale, limp, but heart beating and still breathing*
*As they sit there the flow of monsters will lessen and the stop, the mists clear and the sky brightens to a bright, pleasantly warm day. The place is still eerily quiet, but that pervasive sense of /wrong/ is gone now.*

Darnell: *once done, he'll lightly pat at her cheek* Casey . . . Casey, honey, wake up. Can you hear me? Wake up.

Casey: *now that the spell isn’t feeding on her... she moans softly, eyelids fluttering.*

Darnell: That's it...that's it. Casey, it's Darnell. Can you hear me? C'mon, kiddo, talk to me. *mostly just giving her something to hear, to focus on, continuing to brush her cheek, rub her arm, etc*
Hellboy: *just supporting her for now, leaned back against him, secure with something strong and steady at her back*

Casey: *eyelids flutter again and finally open* ...Detective... *head tilts a bit and she looks at Hellboy.* ...BFG... did we win?

Hellboy: *gives her a grin* Sure did. Ya dun good, pea-shooter.
Darnell: *grins in spite of himself at that* How are you feeling?

Casey: Nuh-uh. I’m a BB remember. *she pulls a deep breath* Tired. Really tired.

Hellboy: *chuckles* Well, she's lucid. That's good.
Darnell: *grinning, relieved* And as ornery as ever. C'mon. *will get his arms under her and stand, lifting her in his arms* My car is just outside of town.
Hellboy: *stands with them* Black, classic, and painfully British? Probably from the 60's?
Darnell: *laughs* Yup, that's the one.
Hellboy: Saw it on the way into town. *will lead the way*

Casey: *looking around as she basically hangs between the guys...* ...So...what happens to me now? *dad dead and probably safe to assume mom is too...*

Darnell: Well, first thing's first - we need to make sure we can make contact with the outside world again. We report to our respective agencies about what happened - you'll likely be interviewed by both, just so we have as complete a record as possible. Then...find you a new family, someone who'll adopt and love you as their own.
Hellboy: *pauses to look at her, cradled in Darnell's arms* Or . . . you're smart, you're resourceful, you've got more guts than most adults, and you've seen things and /survived/ things that most can't even begin to imagine. You know there are horrors out there. We could use someone like you at the Bureau. We have a few freaks like me, but most of our agents are regular humans. I could take you back with me, and you'd be placed with someone who'd not only be family but an agent. They'd see to both your mundane schooling as well as training to help fight against stuff like this. *motions as the abandoned town around them* Whaddya say, BB?

Casey: *glum, but the offer from Hellboy has her looking at him.* I...I think I’d really like that. *belonging somewhere where people will understand what she’s been through...*
