*It’s been a little over a week since Darnell came to Vashti’s house. He’s been invited again to join the group to go hang out. Whe he gets to the door, though, he’ll see something, or rather someone, he’s not yet seen before, a half-blood man. He’s settled by Zasha and is playing a lute while she plays drums and sings.*

Nasha: Blood related? Also adopted by Terris?

Darnell: Not blood related, but yes, also adopted by Terris. My dad, an amin healer. *for those who don't know yet* Apparently Rashek knows him, from sometime back. I was ten and Jendayi was three when we found her one winter. */frowns/* She'd managed to escape, but her mother had just been killed. She'd already lost her father to illness and her half-brother - human - to slavers. Terris took her in and raised her along with me and my sisters.

Darnell: *nods* Thanks, me too. And it is. No one should have to face that kind of horror. *looks at Keziah* I'm really glad /you've/ found a safe home too. *glances down as he thinks of it* Speaking of . . . and I mean, I /really/ hope nothing happens to this household, but if any of you should ever find yourselves homeless and on the run, make for the city if you can. Anywhere with a church. The churches are sanctuaries for all who need it, regardless of race, parentage, or ability. It's very little known because most humans would get all up in arms over it, but...it's true. If you /ever/ need anywhere else to go, make for a church.
